Fang Zheng glanced at the two of them, then smiled and said, "Are you afraid that he will be cruel to you again?"
The two laughed awkwardly.
Fang Zheng nodded and said, "Let's do this. The poor monk will accompany you outside tonight."
"Uh... Master, this is absolutely impossible. You have precious money, so you should go back and live there. We can do it by ourselves, there are four of us at least." Zhao Datong said quickly.
Fang Yunjing also said: "Master, you should go back to sleep, we will be fine."
Ma Juan said: "Master, we are embarrassed if you stay here."
Hu Han wanted to say something, but a wolf howl came from the distant mountains, which frightened him and immediately changed his words: "I think it's good for the master to stay..."
The result was immediately three pairs of angry eyes, which made him lower his head and dare not say a word.
Fang Zheng chuckled and said, "Okay, I'm a monk, I don't care about that. We just meet by fate, so be it."
Zhao Datong and the others also hoped that Fang Zheng would stay. They were really frightened by the lone wolf. Only with Fang Zheng could they feel at ease.
Fang Zheng finally stayed, and several people breathed a sigh of relief.
Surrounding the campfire, feeding the wolves, looking at the stars in the sky, the bald head under the stars looked particularly bright, but it made several people feel extremely at ease.
This situation made several people feel quite emotional. This trip was considered a worthwhile trip.
After chatting for a while, several people gradually became familiar with each other.
Zhao Datong asked curiously: "Master, what are the rules for going to a temple?"
"Datong, don't you believe in Christianity instead of Buddhism? Why are you still asking about this?" Ma Juan asked.
Hu Han also smiled and said: "That's right, didn't you want to enter the temple before?"
Zhao Datong immediately said confidently: "At this moment, I didn't know there was a true god in the mountains before. Now that I know it, of course I believe it. I have now taken refuge in my Buddhist sect, Amitabha. From now on, you can call me Master Datong."
"Ah! You are still a master. You can eat a cow when you eat meat, and you can drink several bottles of high-strength wine. If you could become a Buddha, only a ghost would believe it." Ma Juan unceremoniously exposed the truth.
Zhao Datong said disapprovingly: "Haven't you heard of a saying? It's called meat and wine passing through the intestines, and the Buddha sits in the heart. I have Buddha in my heart, so why should I be afraid of eating some meat and drinking some wine? Right Master?"
Fang Zheng shook his head slightly and asked, "Do you know who said this sentence?"
Zhao Datong suddenly felt embarrassed, scratched his head and said, "I've just heard of it, but I really don't know who said it."
Fang Zheng nodded and said, "People in the world have many misunderstandings about this sentence, but they don't know the meaning behind it, which is also a sin. The origin of "wine and meat pass through the intestines, and the Buddha remains in the heart" is originally a tragic allusion. Said What happened was that when Zhang Xianzhong attacked Yucheng in the Ming Dynasty, which is now ZQ, he stationed himself in a temple outside the city and forced the monks inside to eat meat. At that time, a monk named Poshan said, as long as you don't massacre the city after attacking it, I will Eat meat. In the end, Zhang Xianzhong agreed to him. So Monk Poshan said this while eating. He broke the precept for the sake of the lives of thousands of people, and did not really want to eat meat."
"Master, I have never heard of the allusion you are talking about, but I have heard it said that it came from the mouth of Master Daoji. It is also the mouth of Jigong according to folklore, right? Moreover, it is rumored that Jigong eats meat. Drinking can help you achieve the right path, right?" Fang Yunjing suddenly said, although it was a question, it also meant to make a point.
Fang Zheng smiled disapprovingly and said politely: "The world only knows this sentence of Jigong, but they don't know that there are other sentences: "If the world imitates me, it will be like entering the devil's way", "Those who imitate me will go to hell, and those who slander me will go to heaven." .”
"What's the truth? Why can Jigong eat meat and drink wine, but others can't?" Ma Juan said helpfully.
Fang Zheng continued: "The view that "meat and wine pass through the intestines and remain in the heart of the Buddha" confuses the saints, human nature and virtue, and is a wrong view that cares about useless things. All living beings have Buddha nature, and they are not in the ordinary world. Decrease, it does not increase in a saint. However, in the status of an ordinary person, the troubles are covered, and the Buddha nature cannot be revealed. If you kill animals and eat meat, you will get sick and short-lived, and you will have to be an animal in the next life to pay your life debt. Only saints with great supernatural powers can, under certain circumstances, Eating meat was only shown to save sentient beings, in order to cover up the true nature of a saint, and the secret behind it is impossible for ordinary people to understand. Did you know that after eating two dead pigeons, Jigong could spit out two live pigeons? If the world can do it, Even if you eat meat, if you can't do it, just keep the precepts honestly! A lion can jump over a cliff, but a rabbit can only fall to death. Ordinary people are not qualified to imitate the unconventional behaviors of great siddhas. What we are practicing is for It is to save all sentient beings, and all sentient beings are not just humans, but also all living creatures, such as this lone wolf.”
Zhao Datong was confused when he heard this, but he was still the first to clap his hands and cheer: "Okay! That's so well said!"
"Do you understand?" Ma Juan gave Zhao Datong a roll of his eyes.
Zhao Datong scratched his head and said awkwardly: "I don't understand, but I know it must be right."
"Flatterer." Ma Juan cursed, but there were a few more stars in Fang Zheng's eyes.
Fang Yunjing nodded slightly and said: "It turns out that this sentence is a misinformed fallacy. Hey, I don't know how many people have been fooled. Thank you, master, for your guidance."
Fang Zheng shook his head and said, "Donor, you're too polite."
Hu Han said: "Master, are there any rules for entering a temple? I heard that there are quite a lot of rules in the temple."
Fang Zheng smiled and said: "It's quite a lot, but those who don't know are not guilty. Buddha will not blame those who don't know."
"Master, tell us what the rules are." Ma Juan also asked curiously.
Fang Zheng smiled and said: "There are too many. For example, the main hall you entered before has many rules. There are three doors on the left, middle and right. You should enter from the left and right sides, and you cannot walk in the middle to show respect. If you stand on the left side of the door, When walking sideways, enter with the left foot first; when walking on the right, enter with the right foot first.
When entering the main hall, no other items are allowed except Buddhist scriptures, statues and offerings.
The main hall cannot be entered at any time. It can only be entered when chanting sutras, worshiping Buddha, cleaning, and adding oil and incense. It is not allowed to use the Buddhist hall as a passage to wander around at will.
Before entering the temple, you should purify your body and mind and wash your hands. When entering, you should not look around or look around. Only after worshiping can you look at the holy face and recite the verse silently: "If you can see the Buddha, you should wish that all living beings can see all Buddhas without any obstruction."
In the Buddhist hall, you can only go around to the right and not to the left to show the right path. When everyone is practicing circumambulation of the Buddha, pay attention to the corners. There is no need to stop and ask questions, just raise your eyebrows.
You are not allowed to speak secular language in the hall, and you are not allowed to make loud noises. You are not allowed to sit in the hall except for listening to sutras, listening to Dharma, and meditating together. Even if you are discussing Buddhism, you are not allowed to talk or laugh loudly.
