"Cassock" is the "dharma robe" of monks and nuns. It is named after the "color" of the robe; therefore, it can also be called "bad color robe" or "stained robe". And because of the sewing method of "cassock", the cloth must be cut into pieces and then sewn together; so it can also be called "off-the-shelf clothing" or "cut-off clothing". According to the 40th and 40th chapter of the Four-part Rhythm and the Random Karma Shu of the Four-part Rhythm, the "cassock" was sewn by Venerable Ananda under the guidance of the Buddha to imitate the shape of the paddy field. Setian grows grain to nourish the body and life. The field of dharma robes can nourish the dharma body, wisdom and life, and can be regarded as a field of blessings in the world; so it is also called "field of robes" and "field of blessings".
The cassock is the symbol of the saints and has been respected by the Buddhist order since ancient times. There are ten benefits of wearing a cassock: first, you can reach the highest level of Bodhi; second, you can be among the gods and humans; third, your parents can return to worship; fourth, the dragon son can sacrifice his body; fifth, the dragon can avoid disasters; sixth, the king is respected; seventh, the king can be respected. The first one, all living beings worship; the eighth one, Rakshasa respects; the ninth one, the heavenly dragon protects; the tenth one, one can attain Buddhahood.
Therefore, for monks, the cassock is not just a piece of clothing, but more of a belief, a sign that I am an authentic monk! As mentioned at the beginning of this book, there are three robes in Buddhism, namely the fifth robe, the seventh robe and the coat.
The three clothes are different, and the "five clothes" are usually used when getting up or sleeping. It is also said to be used at work, so it is also called "work clothes". However, in our country, monks and nuns all wear Chinese-style trousers and jackets when working, and do not use the "five robes". The "seven robes" are used when listening to sutras, listening to Dharma, chanting sutras and repenting, or attending public gatherings, so it is also called "the robe for entering the public". "Coat" is used for preaching, debating, karma, or when meeting with the king's important officials.
And this brocade cassock was worn by Tang Sanzang when he met the emperor of a country and the Tathagata Buddha, so it is considered a coat.
The coats are divided into nine grades, namely lower-low grade, lower-middle grade, lower-upper grade; middle-lower grade, middle-middle grade, middle-upper grade; upper-lower grade, upper-middle grade, and upper-upper grade! There are strict style distinctions between each grade, and this cassock is not worn randomly. Without that merit, wearing it randomly is a sin. Not only does it have no benefit, it also only increases karma.

There are square clusters of embroidered seams, and the pieces are piled with brocade. The exquisite and scattered Dou Zhuang flowers are bright and colorful. Put on the red mist and take off the colorful clouds. There is a mysterious light outside the Three-Day Gate, and there is precious energy in front of the Five Mountains. Passion flowers are embedded heavily, and stars and stars hang like stars. There are luminous pearls on the four corners and an emerald on the top. Although there is no original body of full illumination, there are eight treasures that generate light. This cassock is folded in your spare time and only worn when you meet a saint. Fold it at leisure, and it will be wrapped in thousands of layers and see through the rainbow. Only wear it when you meet a saint, it will scare all the gods and ghosts. There are Ruyi beads, Mani beads, Dust-free beads, and Wind-fixing beads on it. There are also the red agate, purple coral, luminous pearls, and relics. The moon steals the bright white, and competes with the sun for its red. The sky is full of immortal energy, and the auspicious light holds the saint. Strands of fairy energy filled the sky, shining through the sky; blossoming auspicious lights held the saints, and their shadows spread all over the world. When the mountains and rivers are illuminated, tigers and leopards are frightened; when the shadow of the island is reflected, fish and dragons move. There are two gold locks along the edge, and a chain of white jade congs for knocking.
