Fang Zheng both approved and disapproved of this kind of education method. The result of completely ignoring it was that Fang Zheng had been wild for so many years. When he grew up, he was still talking about nonsense and swearing. Although he has understood some philosophies of life and principles of life, he is still an ordinary child who has not received higher education. No matter how much Yizhi Zen Master does, how much can he be expected to understand on his own? As for the approval, it is because Zen Master Yizhi gave him a happy childhood, and his original intention has not changed. He is still who he is, and he is still the same Founder!
Even if the system suddenly appeared and gave him some shackles, it would soon become irrelevant and he couldn't curse? Although Fang Zheng still has outbursts occasionally, his abstinence from swearing does not seem to affect his life. As for maintaining the demeanor of a master in front of others, this is already a required course for Fang Zheng. No matter what, pretend to be a good master, accumulate more merits, and strive to return to secular life as soon as possible!
Thinking about himself and then looking at Red Boy, Fang Zheng became more and more sure of his teaching direction. The current Red Boy is more aggressive than he was before, so he must be beaten appropriately and his thoughts of murder must be forcibly suppressed. Then he will gradually guide and influence him, and the rest depends on how far he can realize it. If he realizes it early, he will be liberated early, and if he realizes it later, he will end up here to support Fang Zheng in his old age...
To be honest, Fang Zheng didn't have much confidence that he would be able to influence this fierce red boy...
During lunch, Honghai'er didn't eat at all, just sat there in a daze.
"Jing Xin, why don't you eat?" Fang Zheng asked.
Hong Hai'er held up his chin and looked forward with disgust and said: "I've eaten enough. Although I don't vomit anymore, but... I'm not interested in seeing them. I really don't understand you. Don't you get tired of eating these every day?" White rice, rotten vegetable leaves, how can there be delicious meat? Master, I saw that the monks on Lingshan Mountain can eat meat. Why can't you eat meat when you are here? Are you also attracted by that old monster... "
Fang Zheng: "Huh?!"
Honghai'er immediately changed his words and said, "Have you been deceived by the Bodhisattva?"
When Lone Wolf heard this, he also looked at Fang Zheng secretly. Although the crystal rice was delicious, Lone Wolf was still a wolf after all, and he still had some thoughts about meat.
Fang Zheng knew that Lone Wolf must have thought about this question before, but he just didn't dare to ask. Since Hong Hai'er brought up the topic today, he didn't mind talking about it.
Fang Zheng put down his chopsticks, sat up straight and said, "Do you know why monks don't eat meat?"
Hong Hai'er rolled his eyes and said, "If I knew, would I still ask you?"
Fang Zheng ignored him and looked at the lone wolf, monkey, and squirrel. As expected, these three guys shook their heads. Fang Zheng then continued: "The Buddhist scripture "Guangben of Precepts" clearly states: Buddhism has no rules about vegetarianism. Buddhism prohibits eating vegetables. Yes, it is "meat". This meat is not our current concept, it refers to animal food such as chicken, duck, fish and meat. The meat we are talking about now is called "xing" in Buddhism, not "meat". In the Buddhist scriptures, the word "meat" is not When pronouncing hun, it should be read as xun, which means smoked, which refers to vegetables with a smoky smell. "Meat is the smell of vegetables." The Brahma Net Sutra is more specific: "If a Buddhist is not allowed to eat the five pungent foods. Garlic, green onions, green onions, orchid green onions, and Xingqu are the five pungent vegetables. "Meat is these five vegetables. Note that the five pungent here does not only refer to these five vegetables, but refers to all spicy vegetables in general. Therefore, you cannot eat any spicy vegetables.
The word meat comes from the head of grass instead of from the side of meat, which shows that the original meaning of meat is a plant rather than an animal, so the early monks were allowed to eat meat.
However, there are always exceptions.
More than 1,400 years ago, things had changed under Xiao Yan, Emperor Wu of Liang in the Southern Dynasties.
Xiao Yan himself is a Buddhist. To what extent does he believe in Buddhism? In order to become a monk, it can be said that he racked his brains. He didn't need the world or the beauties in the harem. As long as he could become a monk, he would do anything. He even called himself "Three Treasures Slave". What's even more outrageous is that in order to be able to be a monk with peace of mind, he directly He gave it to the temple, which was then Tongtai Temple. .
However, at that time, the only person in charge of the world was the emperor, and there was no deputy emperor who could manage the government while the emperor was reciting sutras. For a time, the entire country was in chaos. The ministers were also helpless. They held countless conferences and small meetings. No matter how willful the emperor was, the country still had to be controlled! So everyone thought about it over and over again, and finally came up with a way to redeem the emperor's life!
So, these ministers took the money and sent it to Tongtai Temple, and forcibly redeemed Emperor Xiao Yan. However, this emperor is also a weirdo. Will you redeem me? Then I will give myself up again! The minister also fell in love with him. If you give me up, I will redeem you! After all, the money belongs to the country!
This back-and-forth has given Tongtai Temple an advantage. Tongtai Temple has no choice but to see this! The current emperor believes in Buddhism. If the emperor were changed and they saw that he was unhappy and rich, he might take action on them. However, Xiao Yan only wanted to be a monk and there was nothing anyone could do.
This shows how obsessed Xiao Yan is with Buddhism. Later, he saw a prohibition on killing in the book, and he thought that prohibiting killing of living things alone was not enough. If there is no buying and selling, there is no killing. If no one eats, who will kill? So he issued a ban prohibiting monks in the world from eating meat. At the same time, he raised this rule to the gods and ancestors of heaven and earth, and all enjoyed the treatment of monks. In other words, in the future, when offering sacrifices to heaven and earth, gods, and ancestors, pig heads will no longer be used, but pig heads and pork made of flour will be used instead.
It was also from that time that there was a rule that monks did not eat meat. However, after all, the Southern Dynasties only lasted a few years, and they never unified the whole country. Their influence was far from reaching the level of influencing future generations.
However, when Kumarajiva later translated Buddhist scriptures, he added not eating meat to the Bodhisattva precepts. However, the original Bodhisattva precepts have long been lost. The Bodhisattva precepts seen by later generations were all translated by Kumarajiva, so it is natural to see them. It’s about quitting eating meat. But this is just an advocate, not a mandatory rule. After all, Kumarajiva also married his cousin. But this was the beginning of expanded propaganda, and its influence was very wide.
It became a mandatory rule that monks should not eat meat when Zen Buddhism flourished in the Tang Dynasty. Zen Buddhism's "Baizhang Qinggui" clearly stipulated that monks should not eat meat. However, at the beginning, it was only for warrior monks, and later the requirement was imposed on all monks.
Even so, whether monks can eat meat should be treated individually based on different situations and not generalized. ,
Buddhism is divided into Mahayana and Hinayana. Mahayana is about saving people with one heart, using self-salvation as a means to save others, so no meat can be eaten. That is Xiao Yan's theory, if there is no eating, there is no killing.
Hinayana seeks to save oneself rather than save others, and is allowed to eat three kinds of "pure meat". The "three pure meats" are: "One is killed by someone who does not see it with my eyes; secondly, someone who does not hear someone kills for me; thirdly, someone who has no suspicion of killing for me." ".
For "sick monks", that is, sick monks, a humanitarian policy is implemented, special care is given, and any meat can be eaten. Today, monks from countries such as Tianzhu and Sri Lanka, as well as monks from Mongolian, Tibetan, Dai and other ethnic minorities in China, are allowed to eat meat. "
"Master, I understand, we are Mahayana Buddhism, right? We want to save people, so we can't eat meat!" The squirrel was the first to raise his paw and shouted.
