Chapter 149: Secret meeting and coma

When Ketchlov found nothing, he frowned.

"Logically speaking, my information hasn't been released yet, so there's no reason for Mr. Frederick to meet me, right?"

Ketchlov thought.

He concentrated his mind again and prepared to search when he heard Frederick curse inwardly.

"idiot."

Following the direction of the sound, I found Frederick closing the bathroom door with only half of his body exposed.

"Ah, sir, you are here," Ketchlov whispered.

"Idiot, don't you know there are people following you? What kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into?"

After Ketchlov stepped into the bathroom, Frederick cursed with gritted teeth.

Ketchlov said with a bitter face,

"It's hard to explain. The chef of the Einstar family where I was hiding was a spy from France. He died a few days ago. The people from the Public Security Bureau thought I was a spy sent by Oros. Now my identity as the second chef is no longer valid. I need a new identity."

Frederick was silent for a while, then said to Ketchlov,

"Has the information been published?"

Ketchlov nodded and responded, "The organization will be notified tomorrow through the Munich Daily. Top of the second inside page."

Frederick thought for a moment and replied,

"In that case, you should be careful. I will make follow-up arrangements for you when the superiors notify you."

"Okay, I'm leaving now."

Ketchev nodded and carefully checked that there was no one outside the door before walking out.

——

"Leader, why don't we go in?" asked Rhodes, who seemed to have little presence.

"Do you think what we are wearing is appropriate now?" said Joe Butran, pointing to the civilian clothes he was wearing.

Veronica covered her mouth and smiled, "If I go in wearing this, I'm afraid people will see through me at a glance."

"Let's pack up. I already roughly understand who Ketchlov will go after." Jobtran said confidently, and told Louisa, "Louisa, you continue to keep an eye on Ketchlov. Let's go back and prepare. I need to look up some information. I'll have someone notify you later."

Louisa frowned and complained,

"Ah, I'll be bored to death if I'm alone. Let Ross stay with me."

Ross spread his hands and said, "This is the leader's order. I can't do anything about it."

"Well, just spare him. Ross may need him later."

Joe Butran said with a smile.

——

Ketchev returned to the trial hall, opened the door and saw Effie standing alone on the stage.

Despite the lack of exciting music and melodic accompaniment, Effie still enjoyed the feeling of being on the stage.

She clasped her hands together in front of her chest as if praying and closed her eyes.

The sunlight shining into the room from the skylight happened to shine on her, like a dazzling spotlight.

The innocent girl stood in the center of the stage, singing loudly.

“Late at night, late at night, the nightingale sings sadly alone.

In the silent night, gorgeous blood-red flowers bloomed on the thorns.

That is the sadness of passers-by.

The brightest light fades on the plain,

Also fleeing were the helpless people and the panicked wild horses.

All mysteries are in the dark grey starry sky.

The sperm whale was stranded on the shore,

The white stork in the tree sneered at the people on the Warning.

The raging fire destroyed countless houses.

The night sky is bright with countless shooting stars.

Meteorites bombarded the devastated ground.

The earth shook and the dream collapsed.

The song that blows in the wind,

It was a shrill roar,

A roar of despair,

It is a wail of sorrow.

O ignorant man,

The chosen one who holds the silver key,

It's not just Pandora's box that's opened.

And the beginning of destruction and the end.

Don't cry, don't cry,

Enjoy the best years of your life,

Dance to the death of civilization."

The lyrics sung by the girl sound more like a strange poem.

That was when she was waiting for Kichlov and she had a strong desire to sing in her heart.

As she grew restless, sad lyrics and a weird but pleasant melody came out of Effie's mouth.

Ketchlov looked at Effie on the stage and suddenly felt that the girl in front of him looked extremely strange when she was singing.

The girl singing on the stage has the temperament of a prophet, crying out the tragic situation of the world in the future.

Effie's eyes were extremely empty. After she stopped singing, she fainted on the stage.

Ketchev rushed forward and helped the girl who had fallen to the ground.

Her face looked extremely pale, like an old person who was dying.

Holding the boneless girl in his arms, Ketchev shook her anxiously.

"Wake up. What's wrong with you?"

Seeing that Effie didn't react at all, Kercherov carried Effie on his back and ran away.

After running out of the Munich Concert Hall, Ketchev felt very conflicted and for a moment he didn't know where to go.

After a little thought in his mind, Ketchev ran towards Mrs. Michel's pharmacy.

"Sorry, make way!"

Ketchev stumbled along the way, knocked over a vendor's fruit basket, and almost stepped on a leisurely stray cat.

Passersby looked at the reckless Ketchev in surprise.

Although Ketchlov stumbled all the way, he still protected Effie's body from getting injured in the process.

"Ding-ling-ling"

Ketchev pushed open the door of the pharmacy with one hand.

"Oh, my goodness, what's happened to my dear Effie?"

Mrs. Michelle adjusted her glasses on the bridge of her nose and said with an anxious look on her face.

Mrs. Michelle immediately put down the potion she was preparing. Even though it would waste ten gold marks worth of raw materials, for her little granddaughter, this amount of money was nothing.

Mrs. Michelle had predicted from Tarot divination that Effie's trials would be difficult, but she had not expected that Effie would be affected by the experience so quickly.

Ketchlov found a chair and placed Effie on it.

At this time, Effie was still in a coma, and her breathing was getting weaker and weaker.

The sight of him breathing so weakly was heartbreaking.

Mrs. Michelle stepped forward and placed her index and middle fingers on Effie's wrist, feeling Effie's pulse.

Effie's heart rate slowed down, but her brows were furrowed.

Mrs. Michelle took out a box of matches from her bosom, lit one, and opened Effie's eyelids with one hand.

Mrs. Michelle breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that the pupils still contracted in the light of the match.

He took a bottle of sobering potion from the counter and poured it into a cup.

The medicine in the cup is now transparent, and feels like a cup of boiled water, colorless and odorless.

After adding about three grams of suspicious-looking gray-yellow powder, the color of the potion suddenly turned light blue and had a strange earthy smell.

Ketchlov watched Mrs. Michelle do all this in confusion. He didn't quite understand how she could get the unconscious Effie to drink the potion.

Mrs. Michelle accurately grabbed five fresh mint leaves from a drawer nearby, crushed them in a crucible, and then took out the remaining juice and mixed it into the cup of potion.

The light green potion in the cup changed again after the addition of mint juice and mixing.
