Chapter 71: The Splitface and the Viscount

The sharp iron hook was almost piercing into Eisen's neck, and Eisen could already feel the sharpness through the surface of his skin.

It was really too horrifying that I almost died in such an inexplicable way without even realizing it.

Eisen immediately collapsed to the ground, supporting his body with his hands behind his back. He was so frightened by his own condition that he was at a loss for words.

"How could I fall asleep so suddenly? I didn't know I had a problem with sleepwalking. It was also very strange that the priest left suddenly today. I have never heard of a priest leaving during confession and giving me something."

Eisen thought so.

He subconsciously stretched out his right hand and touched the cross hanging on his chest, but the cross had actually been broken long ago. His light touch caused the structure of the cross to no longer maintain its original state and it broke into two parts in the middle, and one of the lower parts fell onto Eisen's thigh.

Eisen felt a strange sensation on his leg and looked down. He saw that the fragment of the lower half of the cross was stuck between his thigh and waist.

Eisen picked up the fragment and found that there seemed to be strange changes on it.

He first got up from the ground, walked back to the front desk where there was sunlight, then took off the cross and fragments hanging around his neck and placed them on the table for careful examination.

The material of this cross is the heart of oak, which is reddish brown in color. Oak is hard and heavy, so it is often used as furniture. Oak is used because of its wear resistance and toughness. The cross needs to be carried around, so it is not suitable to use some light and fragile wood because it is easy to rub against clothes or hit foreign objects and get damaged.

Oak has a fine texture and is not easy to absorb water. Even when you take it to the bathroom for a shower, the wood will not become soft or moldy after getting wet. You only need to wipe the moisture on the surface with a dry cloth.

When Father Polyga gave this cross to Eisen, he also took into consideration that as a butcher, it would not be appropriate for him to carry something too heavy, so he chose a smaller one that he could carry with him.

On the surface, although the cross is not painted, it can be seen that it is a brand new and finely crafted work.

It is simply unbelievable that such a cross would break into pieces while he was sleepwalking.

Eisen tried to break off the remaining upper part with his thumb and index finger, but the upper part of the cross did not move at all.

He picked up the broken side of the cross and examined it, trying to find some traces of insect bites or signs of natural wear and tear, but found nothing.

One thing caught Eisen's attention: there were scattered black spots on the broken surface of the cross.

These black spots are not very noticeable under the original reddish-brown wood, but they are as prominent as lupus on a patient's body, making it impossible to ignore their existence.

Eisen pressed hard on one of the raised spots with the tip of his right index finger. The spot was not solid, but like a cyst bulging in the wood. After breaking the surface of the wood, a small amount of smelly, sticky light green liquid actually flowed out.

This liquid was like the mucus secreted by some insects, and it stuck to Eisen's hands. At first, Eisen never cared about it, but he found that this disgusting mucus was actually slightly corrosive and would corrode the skin like sulfuric acid. Eisen was so scared that he immediately turned on the faucet and rinsed with plenty of water.

After rinsing, the skin on the index finger of Eisen's right hand had become bumpy, leaving only a thin layer.

A series of incredible events happened around Eisen. He sat in a chair, wondering if he had offended anyone recently.

After thinking about it, he didn't think that what had happened recently had anything to do with anyone he knew.

"Maybe I've just been under too much pressure lately and I'm exhausted?" Eisen consoled himself in his heart, "Should I find some fun to relax?"

Such a thought appeared in Eisen's mind, lingering in his heart like a spell.

Eisen has been playing around with many beautiful women since he came of age. He has extraordinary desires, so he has become one of the most prominent playboys in the city of Ulm. However, lonely ladies treasure him because of his rich experience, skilled techniques, strong physique and unusually large body.

This also brought Eisen's business channels that others could not get. This primitive behavior made Eisen one of the top meat suppliers in Ulm.

Eisen thought for a while. He hadn't contacted those lovely ladies in the past two days. It seemed that it might not be a bad idea to go to their homes rashly.

According to the usual unspoken rules, the lady would place an order in his store, and then he would deliver the meat to her door with a legitimate reason.

He opened the order book that was recently recorded by the waiter. In addition to several normal orders, there was also an order placed by Viscount Freya.

Aisen searched for information related to Viscount Freya in his mind, and then he remembered her specific image.

Brown hair, blue eyes, single, with only a housekeeper, several guards and maids at home, currently only thirty years old, with a gloomy personality, often looks listless, but very free in bed.

Although he had only had sex with Viscount Freya a few times, her melancholy and even somewhat weird temperament made Eisen always keep his distance and he did not have too many close friends with her.

Now that there is only this one order, there is no choice. It is better than spending money to find those women in the red building.

Following the address recorded in the order book, Eisen took the few pieces of meat from the cold storage and walked out the door, humming a tune as he walked down the street.

Although it was already dusk, there were still many pedestrians on the street. Eisen passed by a fruit stall and bought an apple, eating it while walking. After finishing the apple, he threw the core into the trash can on the side of the road.

Arriving in front of the big house that looked a bit shabby, Eisen rang the doorbell outside, and a pale maid opened the door.

"Excuse me, who are you?" the maid asked in a hoarse voice.

"Eisen, the butcher in the butcher shop, your master, Viscount Freya, placed an order with me, and I'm here to deliver the goods." Eisen opened the bag in his hand and showed it to the maid.

"Okay, Mr. Eisen, please wait a moment. I'll go and inform the mistress." The maid still spoke in a low voice.

After saying that, the maid closed the door. This situation made Eisen a little confused. He remembered that the last time he came, he was not locked outside the door to wait, but was directly invited to the inner room.

"Squeak~" A small door on the side opened, and the maid poked her head out and waved to Eisen.

"My master is painting. Please don't go in through the main door. I'll take you to the side hall."

"Viscount Freya can also paint?" Eisen thought to himself, but without giving it too much thought, he followed the maid in through the side door.
