Xia De winked at Mr. Enriquez:

"I just wanted to take some time off. I met a very troublesome person at the party, so I wanted to hide away. Oh, Mr. Enriquez, I didn't expect to meet you again. This is really a coincidence. By the way, how has your relationship with your wife been since we last met?"

He pretended to be curious... He was really curious, and Mr. Enriquez knew that Shade knew most of the things, so he didn't hide anything from him:

"After flipping the coin, I knew what I wanted. I followed your advice and consulted a psychologist, who thought I was too anxious. Although his hourly rate was a bit ridiculous, I felt I gained a lot from talking to him."

Mr. Enriquez raised the letter in his hand to Xia Deyang and walked to the light of the kerosene lamp:

"However, it is impossible to say that I don't mind at all. After all, she is my childhood sweetheart and my current wife..."

Xia De immediately coughed, and Mr. Enriquez realized awkwardly what he had said:

"Okay, I admit that what I said last time about my friend was actually my business."

He did not show the hesitation and hesitation he had last time. This time he was clearly ready and determined.

"I asked a relative who has a lot of connections in Willendale to help me find out about my wife's past when she was studying in Willendale, and I also found some of her former classmates to ask to confirm... confirm..."

"What did she and her lover do in Willendel City?"

Shade said, and Mr. Enriquez felt even more embarrassed.

"I have experienced many stories in the present and in the past. The only things that remain unchanged for men over the years are lust and this. Please continue."

Mr. Enriquez nodded:

"Yes, I will confirm Maggie's past in Willendel. Based on the result of this letter in my hand, I will judge whether I want to maintain this marriage. I love her and have loved her since childhood. If her mistake is not serious, I am willing to continue to love her deeply and accompany her throughout her life; if the mistake is something I cannot forgive, I will choose to let go. Love is not everything in life, maybe I should be more open-minded."

Xia De clapped softly:

"I won't help you judge whether your decision is correct, but I admire the way you have made up your mind. No matter what path you choose, as long as you can keep moving forward, it will be good in the end."

So the young southern gentleman smiled, looked down at the letter in his hand, and handed it to Xia De:

"Mr. Watson, please give me the results. Although what I said just now sounded nice, I am still very nervous."

"No, no."

Xia De shook his empty cup and refused him:

"This is your private matter. Besides, it has come to the last step. There is no need for me, an irrelevant person, to pry into your privacy."

Mr. Enriquez thought for a moment, thanked Shade quietly, and used his pocket knife to open the wax-sealed letter. He took out three pages of letter paper and read them by the dim light of the kerosene lamp.

Xia De turned his back to him to show that he would not pry into his privacy. But in fact, he was really curious about what was in the letter.

Mr. Enriquez read the letter fairly quickly, and when Shad heard the sound of the letter being refolded, he turned around and saw a look of relief on his face.

"It seems that you have figured it out?"

Shade asked, and Mr. Enriquez nodded, took out a match from his pocket, lightly struck it on a wooden pillar beside him, and then ignited the three pages of letter paper, the flames burning in his eyes:

"Mr. Watson, I'm so sorry, but could you please deliver a letter to my wife in the banquet hall?"

Because the hay in the stable was easy to catch fire, the two went outside. Mr. Enriquez looked at the fire in his hand and threw it on the ground:

"I want to talk to Maggie."

"Of course."

Mr. Enriquez had a pen with him, and Shade gave him a few pages of notebook paper. The young southern gentleman thought about the words and spent more than ten minutes writing a two-page letter. He simply folded it and handed it to Shade:

"It's too cold here, so let's not meet here. Please tell Maggie that I'm waiting for her on the bench next to the fountain in front of the manor courtyard."

"no problem."

Xia De agreed, and the two of them walked towards the mansion hidden by bushes and grape trellises.

Although Xia De would not be so bored as to use the Breath of Time to restore the burnt letter, he was still very interested in the letter he was sending now.

After temporarily parting with Mr. Enriquez, Shade walked back while scanning the two pages of paper. After smiling and shaking his head, he folded the letter paper:

"It seems that what Maggie Enriquez did in Willendale City was not too excessive."

Is this really all he wants to confirm

"As a man, it's easy to figure out what's on your mind."

There was still about half an hour before the public speech at 8:30, and the atmosphere in the banquet hall was particularly lively. Xia De gave the empty glass to the waiter and took another glass of red wine.

It is not easy to find a specific person among so many guests, but fortunately, with the help of "her", Shad soon found the trace of Mrs. Enriquez.

As luck would have it, young Mrs. Enriquez was actually sitting on the sofa chatting with Miss Lathers, while Miss Bernardes and Miss Sylvia were nowhere to be seen.

Xia De walked over with a glass of wine, and the two ladies who were talking about opera stopped talking.

Shad said:

"Mrs. Enriquez, long time no see."

Shad had met the Enriquez couple once at Earl Granger's estate, so Maggie Enriquez also knew him.

"Who is this handsome northern gentleman? Introduce him, Maggie."

Miss Lathers said with a smile, and Mrs. Enriquez briefly introduced them and greeted Shade:

"Hello, long time no see, Mr. Watson."

Shade then said to Miss Lathers:

"I have something personal to discuss with Mrs. Enriquez. I wonder if you would..."

He made an apologetic expression, and Miss Lathers tried to stand up, but was stopped by the young woman:

"Never mind, Mr. Watson, what did you want to say?"

She probably didn't want to be alone with a younger man.

"Since you don't mind, I'll tell you straight away. I just met your husband. He asked me to give you this letter and tell you that he's waiting for you at the seat by the fountain in front of the courtyard."

Shade handed over the letter, and the little woman opened it and took a nervous look at it, then hurriedly stood up and said goodbye to Miss Lathers. After thanking Shade, she hurriedly walked towards the door with the letter.

"You and Maggie Enriquez are familiar with each other?"

Shade asked the young blonde curiously, and Miss Lathers nodded thoughtfully:

"There are only a few local noble girls. Even though the Golden Dawn Opera Company is not in Randall Valley half of the year due to performances, I still know these people. Maggie Mason was only fifteen years old when I met her."

Miss Lathers said, and when Mrs. Enriquez walked away, she asked softly:

"Attending the banquet, are you still busy with business?"

"This is not a serious matter, it's just my personal curiosity."

Shade raised his red wine glass, and Miss Lathers also raised her glass and clinked it with him:

"Can you tell me what it is?"

"Of course, but would you mind going out for a walk with me?"

Xia De pointed outside:

"The play I'm following has reached its final act, and I don't want to miss the ending."

"Of course."

She extended her hand wearing a white lace glove to Shad, who then very gentlemanly let her put it on his hand and stood up with Miss Lathers.

As they walked out, Shad told the story of how he and Stone Oxenfurt had attended a "country noble wedding". This story was actually quite simple, it was just the love between a man and a woman.

But Miss Lathers was still fascinated by the story and was particularly interested in the role that Shad played.

By the time Shade told what happened in the stable, the two had already arrived near the fountain. The Enriquez couple were ordinary people, so they didn't even need Miss Lathers of the seventh ring. Shade's illusion was enough to hide the two under the moonlight.

They arrived fairly quickly, just in time to see the young woman walk towards her husband and the young noble from the southern country stand up from the bench.

The fountain was located on the central axis of the manor, and the light from the gas street lamp next to it was much brighter than that in the back garden. The light illuminated the faces of both people at the same time. The woman pursed her lips, holding the two pages of the notebook in her hands, hesitating about what to say; while the man looked at his wife in front of him and took the initiative to speak:

"Tomorrow, I will move back to my bedroom from the study. Remember to ask the servants to bring back my pillows and bedding, and change the sheets."

Mrs. Enriquez looked up at him, tears in her eyes:

"Will you forgive me?"

Mr. Enriquez shook his head:

"I wrote it very clearly in the letter I asked Mr. Watson to deliver... Although the past cannot be completely forgotten, at least I know that I still love you. This is probably the difference between marriage and love."

He opened his arms, and Mrs. Enriquez subconsciously dropped the two pages, took two steps forward and hugged him:

"I, I... I'm sorry. I'm really sorry."

She couldn't say a word, and Mr. Enriquez hugged her. Shade saw that he finally had a relieved smile on his face:

"Maggie, although the wedding was held last month, our marriage officially began tonight. In the future, I will not take the initiative to mention that matter, but I also hope you understand that I will not give you another chance."

Mrs. Enriquez hugged her husband tightly:

"I will love you all my life, yes, all my life, since our childhood... I will cook breakfast for you tomorrow morning, just like I always did."

The two kissed each other under the moonlight. Miss Lathers, who was watching the scene, smiled, while Shad looked at the two pages of paper on the ground.
