"Oh, priest!"
Shade hurried over and wanted to help Father Augustus with his treatment, but the old man frowned and shook his head:
"It doesn't matter."
He snorted, and a white light slowly emerged from his palm. The holy white light just shone on Shade's side, and he felt as if his soul was baptized. The light deeply attracted Shade, and he opened his eyes wide. The enlightenment accumulated from reading the Crazy Light Chaser was slowly enriching, but this time it was not enough to form a new spiritual rune.
In the light, Augustus' arm recovered little by little, and the dagger began to tremble because of the white light, and was finally completely suppressed by the white light.
"It seems I'm not too old."
Priest Augustus sighed quietly, took off the holy emblem on his chest, put it on the dagger and prayed quietly for a long time before stopping:
"Is there any container that can hold this?"
He asked Xiang Xiade.
"have."
Shad recovered from the disappearance of the light, reached into a pile of small toys in his pocket, restored the wooden box and handed it to the priest.
The priest pressed the holy emblem onto the dagger, tied it with red thread, and carefully placed it in the box. He then took out a piece of blue chalk and drew cross-cutting lines on the six sides of the box, and then wrote the exorcism symbols commonly used by the Dawn Church in the blank space between the lines.
Let Shade hold the box. The priest put one hand on the box, closed his eyes again, and prayed softly in the night breeze of the cemetery before ending the whole process.
This really opened Xia De's eyes. Professionals really have their own skills.
"Priest, if this is not a relic, then what is this? An alchemical item?"
Shade asked curiously. The priest handed the box to Shade for safekeeping, and then watched the body on the ground burn with Shade. The flame of the burning kerosene should have been orange-red, but at this moment it showed a sinister green.
Billowing black smoke was rising from the corpse. Shad was thankful that they were now in the open air and that he and the priest were standing upwind, otherwise the smell would have been fatal.
"I'm not sure what it is, but it must be pretty evil to desecrate a body and hide a weapon."
The two stood there, watching the body burn. Xia De also looked up at the cat on the tree. The cat was lying on the tree trunk with a leisurely look. When it noticed Xia De looking up at it, it called softly in response.
Shad realized that this was the first time he had seen Mia climb a tree, and the cat was more agile than he had imagined.
"Once the flames are out, we'll transfer the body back to the coffin. I'll perform additional exorcisms to prevent anything else from happening."
The priest commanded.
"With the corpse in such a state, what else could there be?"
Xia De asked in surprise, and the priest gave him some basic knowledge:
"Prevent this charred corpse from contaminating the other corpses in the cemetery. None of us want to hear news of corpses rioting in the nameless cemetery outside the city in a few weeks."
As he spoke, the priest couldn't help but sigh:
"You must be cautious when doing things. Young people often don't understand this."
The unusual green flame burned for twenty minutes before it went out, but the flame did not burn the corpse into charcoal. Instead, it made the rotten corpse look fresher, and even healed the wound caused by Priest Augustus' kick and the cracks split by Shad.
The woman's voice whispered in his ear, prompting the appearance of Shade's whispering element. But the priest's "other self" did not seem to prompt the whispering element, and the old man suddenly frowned:
"Detective, look!"
When Shade looked at the hands of the corpse, he was immediately stunned, because both hands were placed on the chest, tightly holding the black metal dagger. The source of the whispering element was not the dagger that had reappeared, but the lying corpse.
The traces of the elements are very faint, not like relics, but more like the traces of relics left.
Xia De immediately looked at the box he was holding.
"Tear it apart."
The priest said.
After opening the box, there was indeed nothing inside. But the box never left Xia De's hand, and the woman's voice in Xia De's ear did not remind him that anything unusual had happened.
“That’s interesting.”
The priest nodded to Shad, who dropped the box and threw out the cards again. Then, as expected, the fresher corpse pierced the cards with the dagger again.
It slowly crawled up from the ground. Although it was quite close to Shad, it still turned around and pounced on Priest Augustus.
Because of the lesson he learned last time, the priest dodged and did not raise his leg to kick. His right index finger drew an arc in the air and then pointed at the head of the corpse:
"thunder!"
After the shocking explosion, the thunderbolt broke through the air and shot towards the corpse. However, the corpse actually raised his hand and blocked the thunderbolt with a dagger.
In the darkness, it raised its hand again and stabbed at Priest Augustus. The priest quickly turned sideways, then slammed his right foot into the ground, causing the body to tilt backwards:
"detective!"
“Here it comes!”
Xia De once again chopped down the corpse with the sword in both hands, but the corpse turned around and raised his hands. The short dagger without any trace of elements blocked Xia De's raised sword. The corpse's physical strength was very strong.
The corpse's right hand shook, and the peculiar force-generating technique made Xia De stumble back. Both his wrists were numb, but he recovered quickly because of his strong physical fitness.
However, the corpse still did not take the initiative to attack Shad who had revealed his flaws, but turned around again to deal with Priest Augustus.
"Priest, do you really have no grudge against it?"
"Is this a good time to joke?"
The old man asked dissatisfiedly, and the life ring appeared behind him. He said loudly to Xia De:
"I can still handle this little trouble. Back off quickly and take your cat as far away as possible."
"no problem!"
Priest Augustus probably had prepared some powerful moves, so Shad took a step and moved ten meters in the air. He stretched out his hand to call the cat that jumped down from the tree, and then continued to run forward.
The clear voice of Priest Augustus came from behind:
"Corpse Explosion!"
Boom!
The dull sound almost made the ground tremble. Shade fell to the ground and rolled into a ball with the cat. He looked towards the gravekeeper's hut worriedly, and then turned back.
When he returned to the old man in the clergy robe, there was a deep pit in front of him that was still emitting black smoke. Xia De held the cat that was frightened by the explosion, and he couldn't believe that the old man in front of him had blown up a body:
"Will all believers of the God of Light and Shadow learn the art of corpse explosion?"
This doesn't sound like a magic skill that a positive character should learn.
"I am not a ring sorcerer of the church, and power does not distinguish between good and evil."
Priest Augustus said softly, and Shade saw that the spiritual rune that had just lit up on the life ring behind him was the corpse. This kind of spiritual rune was not something that a devout believer of the true God like Priest Augustus could possess.
The smoke from the explosion gradually subsided, and in the deep pit created by the explosion, a rustling sound that made one's scalp numb gradually sounded. In the smoke with a burnt smell, Shade and the priest, who were holding the cat, saw that the fresh corpse that looked like it had just been buried, crawled out from the deep pit again.
Not only did it now look more like a human, its movements were also more agile, and it was still rushing directly towards Priest Augustus instead of Shad.
