Have you ever been afraid of something in your life

The answer should be yes, everyone will have many fears in their life, from ferocious beasts to your school teacher, everyone has different fears and different reasons.

But, have you ever thought about it? There is one thing that everyone is afraid of; there is one thing that almost every creature in the world is afraid of, from one end of the universe to the other.

is dark.

Almost all intelligent creatures in the universe are subconsciously afraid of darkness.

When we were young, we were afraid of the darkness under the bed, and when we grew up, we were afraid of the night road without street lights. Every time you tell yourself, it's okay, there's nothing there, but no matter how much you comfort yourself, the fear of the dark still won't diminish.

Have you ever wondered why

Is it because...

It is clear in our subconscious that there is not nothing in that darkness.

Two or three days after we sent Mo Xue away, Wen Jiubai and I fell into an embarrassingly rigid situation.

Before Moxue disappeared, she left Wen Jiubai with an inexplicable sentence: "It's really beyond my imagination that you are in the same boat as human beings."

This seemingly easy sentence made my cerebral cortex explode.

Wen Jiubai, this mysterious man, seems to be otherworldly. Even though he has known him for so long, he still doesn't know anything about this man's past and background. Although I have met many people he knew, but the people who knew him... It was the first time I met.

Moxue disappeared in the blink of an eye, even if I stood up in a hurry, I couldn't catch up.

"Uh, it looks like he's gone..." Shi Yitong said stupidly.

I ignored Shi Yitong and walked straight to Wen Jiubai.

"Wen Jiubai!"

Wen Jiubai was packing the tea set with his head down, and he didn't want to pay attention to me at all, but I still stuck to it with a shy face.

"Wen Jiubai, Moxue knows you?" I asked curiously.

"Probably." Wen Jiubai replied ambiguously.

"What does it mean? Why does she know you?"

"It's just an acquaintance. Is there a reason?" Wen Jiubai replied lightly.

I was choked by Wen Jiubai, but I still asked unwillingly, "But as far as I know, you don't have any acquaintances or friends at all. How did Mo Xue know you? When did you meet? Also, what did she mean just now?" ? She asked if you were 'he'? Who is 'he'?"

Wen Jiubai had already packed the tea set at this time, turned around and looked at me, frowning.

"Also, and..." I was a little terrified by Wen Jiubai's stare, but I still bit the bullet and said what I wanted to say, "She said that you are in league with human beings."

Wen Jiubai still looked at me quietly.

"That tone... as if you are not human at all." I swallowed and said.

"Uh, Gu Yu?" Shi Yitong seemed to sense the tense atmosphere on our side, and cautiously wanted to intervene, but Wen Jiubai ignored it.

"I never said I was human." Wen Jiubai looked at me calmly, unable to see the emotion in his eyes.

"Then what are you?" I blurted out.

Wen Jiubai's expression suddenly changed, he suddenly approached me with an indescribably evil smile on his face. I was startled, and hurriedly wanted to back up, but found that my legs were no longer in control, and I couldn't move.

Wen Jiubai's whole body exuded a strong air pressure, my chest was oppressed by this air pressure, and it was hard to breathe, but he still pressed on step by step. That handsome face is getting closer and closer to me, I can almost smell his breath.

Danger! My brain keeps telling itself. After a long absence, I once again felt the smell of fear emanating from Wen Jiubai.

"Then what do you think I am?" Wen Jiubai asked with a smile.

"Uh, I..." My brain was in a state of shutdown.

"Human-eating monsters? Evil monsters? Or demons from hell?" Wen Jiubai said calmly, "I know what you're thinking, Gu Yu. You're thinking, 'Has this Wen Jiubai ever killed someone?' No, it should be said You are thinking, 'How many people has this Wen Jiubai killed?'"

I trembled all over, and my palms grabbed the edge of the table behind me fiercely.

"Don't always think that you know me very well." Wen Jiubai whispered, "You are still far behind."

After finishing speaking, the low air pressure that emanated from Wen Jiubai's body disappeared instantly, and I almost fell to the ground, and I managed to stand up straight by holding on to the table. And when I came back to my senses, Wen Jiubai had already left and disappeared.

"He..." Shi Yitong came to me, frowned and pondered, "I seem to be in a bad mood today. What's the matter?"

"He's here as uncle." I said angrily.

Ever since Wen Jiubai got angry for no reason that day, we haven't said a single word to each other. I couldn't save that face, and Wen Jiubai simply ignored me. And thinking of Wen Jiubai's attitude towards me, I became even more angry.

What dark secret does he have? Even if he is a monster, I won't feel any grudges because of it? I have experienced all kinds of weird and bizarre things, does Wen Jiubai still think that I will be afraid of him

The more I think about it, the angrier I get, and the more I get angry, the more I want to know. But I don't want to go to the old house with a shy face to ask questions. No matter how big-hearted I am, Gu Yu, I won't be so shameless.

So I sulked and sulked like a child, until three days later, even the people in my dormitory started asking me.

"Gu Yu, why haven't I seen you go to work these two days?"

When the boss said this, I was washing the dirty clothes I had saved for a week in front of the tap, and I was thinking about Wen Jiubai all the time, scrubbing my hands more and more vigorously, and in the end I was almost venting my anger. The boss repeated it twice, and I couldn't hear what he said clearly from the huge sound of water.

"What did you say?" I turned on the faucet, stopped the movement of my hands, and turned to ask the boss.

"I said, why didn't you go to work these two days." The boss repeated with some helplessness.

"What's the matter?" The second child poked his head out of the bed at this time, looked at me curiously, and then at the boss, "What's the matter with the fourth child? Could it be that he had a fight with the boss?"

These words hit the nail on the head, and I was at a loss for words for a moment, not knowing what to say.
