A majestic and massive monolithic fortress built of rock and steel, suspended in the cold void.
As the home planet of the Dark Angels, it is extremely heavily guarded.
Any enemy who tries to attack it will eventually find themselves hitting an iron wall, only to be shattered without achieving any results.
Guilliman's flagship, Macragge's Glory, sent a standard Imperial void port berthing request to the Stone Fortress upon emerging from the Warp.
In communication with the Grand Master of the Dark Angels - Azrael.
Guilliman did not mince words and stated bluntly that he had the means and power to save the Lord of the First Legion.
The other party was so excited that he was almost speechless.
... ... .
The helipad inside the Stone Fortress.
Azrael, who had completed the Primaris upgrade, stood at the edge of the helipad, fully armed.
This is the highest etiquette of a chapter.
The Astartes are different from the other branches of the Imperium.
If they were not wearing armor when meeting with an imperial official, it basically meant that they disdained the official.
If the other party specially repairs the armor, waxes and polishes it until it is smooth enough to reflect light, it means that the regiment recognizes this friend.
Behind Azriel were ten giants in white robes.
They stood in the shadow of the tarmac, the light from the surrounding lumen lights lengthening their shadows.
The warriors in white robes each held a two-handed sword in their hands.
From the face to the chest, standing straight in front.
The sharp blade gleamed in the flickering light, and it was obvious that it had been temporarily polished.
The humming of servoskulls echoed across the deck, and red light flickered beneath the massive ceiling.
Those servo skulls constantly measured the surrounding scene, waiting for the next instructions from the dark angels.
Next to them, a short man in a long robe also stood aside.
They were wearing hooded robes and no information about their faces could be seen.
The Dark Angels have long been accustomed to their presence.
The two are one.
It represents some unknown secrets.
Pneumatic sounds were heard from the engine deck as huge pressure steam pipes gushed out gas to release the pressure.
The huge metal baffle slowly opened under the power of the machine, revealing the cold starry sky scene outside.
An Overlord gunship entered the landing deck under the escort of a formation of Valkyrie fighters.
With the friction sound of the rope moving the fixed machinery, the Overlord gunboat quickly came to a stop.
The gunship's hatch opened with a hissing sound as the decompression gas was released.
The Imperial Regent came out surrounded by his honor guards.
Azriel stepped forward and saluted, and behind him, Ezekiel and other dark angels also saluted.
“Regent,” Azrael said respectfully, “I’m glad you’re visiting the Stone Fortress again. I’m sorry I couldn’t receive you in person last time.”
The last time, when Guilliman came to the Stone Fortress.
Azrael nearly died in an attack by the Alpha Legion.
He was lying on the hospital bed with an oxygen tube inserted throughout the whole process.
If it weren't for the Primaris technology, Azrael would have been doomed.
The toxins in the Warp were difficult to heal even for the Primarch, let alone for a psychic like him.
The upgrade of Primaris technology allowed him to survive.
For this reason, he was quite fond of the reforms led by the imperial regent.
The empire had indeed reached the point where it had to change.
What's more, the corruption and inefficiency of Terra's bureaucracy once disgusted the Dark Angels.
Most of the time they were unwilling to pay attention to Terra.
Generally, we go wherever support is needed.
"There is no need to apologize, Azrael. You are a hero of the Imperium." Guilliman said with a smile.
Azrael raised his head and looked at the noble face of the Primarch. He couldn't wait to ask, "Imperial Regent, is what you said true? Can the Lion King really be awakened?"
"I am certain about it." Guilliman nodded. "I received some guidance from the Emperor on Terra, and then I searched for a lot of data and information. Ryan's slumber is due to the power of the correction of the laws of time and space and some special personal reasons. He spanned 10,000 years, from the past directly to the present. During this long period of time, he lost the image of his existence. It's like building a high-rise building without building the middle and directly building the upper floors. Collapse is inevitable."
"According to my father's enlightenment, there is only one way to avoid such a situation, and that is to find a way to ignore the high-rise buildings in the middle, so that such inharmonious buildings can exist and even become reasonable."
"How can this be done?" Azriel asked anxiously.
Ezekiel, Dagone, Boris and others also showed anxious expressions.
They also wanted to know how to wake up the Lion King.
If the Gene Father could be recalled, it would definitely be a good thing for the Dark Angels.
"There is only one way to ignore the laws of time and space in this universe, and that is the Warp." Guilliman looked at the Dark Watcher standing aside.
The Dark Watchers were short in stature, and Guilliman had to duck his head to see them.
"But the subspace is unpredictable and full of dangers. When we realized that the Lion King was in trouble, we also made similar attempts, but to no avail. What are you going to do?"
The Dark Watcher's voice rang in Guilliman's mind.
The artifacts gathered together, a rift in time and space appeared, and the future was sent to the present ten thousand years later.
Several high-ranking members of the Dark Angels and Dark Watchers discovered the Lion King at the first opportunity, brought him back directly, and placed him in the deepest part of the Stone Fortress.
The Dark Watcher had already been trying to find a way to awaken the Lion King before coming into contact with Guilliman.
Unfortunately, all their methods failed.
"Of course you can't succeed. Only by awakening the Lion King's warp form can he wake up in the warp and use the characteristics of the warp to reduce the damage caused by time and space. As for awakening the Warp entity of Lion, either he will suffer a serious injury and betray and awaken. Or use the Blood of the Emperor to guide him to awaken, similar to the way those rebellious Primarchs ascended to demons."
"We do not have the blood of the Emperor." The Dark Watcher shook his head.
"But I do. The blood of the Emperor flows in my veins."
Guilliman looked at Azrael. "Let's go. I don't have much time left. The burden of the Empire does not allow me to waste any time. Take me to see Ryan. After waking him, I have other things to do."
"Okay, Regent." Azriel nodded and turned to lead the way for the Imperial Regent.
... ... ... ... ... ..
... ... ... ... ... ... .
The group walked deeper into the corridor of the Stone Fortress and took a ride on a high-speed train used to transport supplies inside the fortress.
The Stone Fortress is extremely large, with foundries, assembly plants, training camps and residential areas, and the amount of materials and personnel moving in and out is enormous.
Without the use of transportation tools such as high-speed trains, there is no way to transport large amounts of cargo and people between regions.
Basically many large warships have internal trains for transporting cargo.
This is also a feature of the Imperial battleship.
A battleship is already equivalent to a small world.
Ryan sleeps in the Stone Fortress.
The only way to wake him up is to send him into the subspace. Only by awakening the subspace form can this lion be awakened.
Guilliman repeated to the group what the Emperor had told him.
The Dark Watcher and Azrael extracted important information from it and quickly determined the steps of the ritual.
Ezekiel stood nearby, listening to the conversation.
There was a sigh in his heart.
Ten thousand years ago, Warmaster Horus was severely injured and fell into a deep sleep. A witchcraft made him embark on the path of betrayal.
Now, the Lion King is sleeping, and Guilliman also intends to use sorcery to wake it up.
How similar, and slightly ironic.
A sorcery transformed the Great Crusade.
Now a witchcraft will also change the empire.
... ... ... ... ...
The priests carved densely packed runes of the state religion in the secret room.
Each candle is placed in its respective position according to the requirements of the ceremony.
Azrael supervised the work of the men, ensuring that the steps of the ritual were completed meticulously.
No margin for error is allowed.
This matter concerns the revival of the Father of Genes, so the Grand Master cannot be careless.
Once he made a mistake, he had no way of forgiving himself.
Guilliman also ordered the fleet to place the Stone Fortress under martial law and activate the defense protocol, and any visitors would be stopped immediately until the ceremony was completed.
He ordered Sicarius and others to cooperate with the Dark Angels in garrisoning and to be vigilant against interference and sabotage from guys like those in the Warp.
The Dark Watchers also joined hands and performed forbidden rituals passed down within their race to seal off the existence of the Monolith Fortress in the Warp and create an independent space.
They have been passed down for countless years and are older than many demon races in the sub-space.
He has experienced the War of Civilizations, the Age of Ancient Saints, and the War of Heaven, and he masters unimaginable secret arts.
Their research into the Warp is even more in-depth than that of the Eldar.
Together, they sealed off the Stone Fortress and ensured that the ritual to awaken Ryan would go smoothly.
Warriors built with the most advanced technology in the Empire, combined with ancient sorcery, ensure that those hidden deep in the Stone Fortress will not be disturbed by the Warp and traitor forces.
As Grand Master and Chief Psyker of the Dark Angels, Azrael is well versed in such rituals.
When Guilliman took off his hand armor and cut his palm with the Emperor's Sword, the bright red blood of the Primarch flowed out.
He then ordered them to be collected in vessels engraved with the runes of the Holy Emperor.
Several Librarians used the blood of the Primarch to carve psychic runes near the platform where the Lion slept.
They needed to send En into the Warp and use the blood of the Primarch to stimulate his awakening.
Wait until all preparations are completed.
At Guilliman's instruction, the Dark Watcher disabled the force field device used to protect Lion.
When the force field light disappears.
The power of time and space also swept in, hurting the lion's real body.
His breathing gradually became weaker, and his hair became dull and no longer shiny.
Azrael and others chanted spells and sent their power into the carved runes.
At the same time, their spiritual consciousness began to connect together, forming a special group to travel to the outside world.
"Right now." A small man in a white robe was suspended in the air, with powerful psychic energy bursting out from his body.
There was nothing inside except the darkness inside the robe, which suddenly emitted a dazzling light, illuminating the entire secret room.
It was like there was a huge sun underneath that robe.
"Eternity." The little man in white robe made a voice, and his robe faded away, revealing the true appearance of their clan.
An entity composed of a strange light containing the stars in the universe, it no longer has flesh and blood.
The stars inside his body twinkled, as if there was really a universe contained within his body.
They have long since evolved and transcended, freeing themselves from the troubles of flesh and blood.
Accompanied by a strong light, a subspace entrance appeared above Ryan.
Swallow it up instantly.
Everyone's consciousness also sank into the entrance along with Lai En.
They need to enter Ryan's spiritual realm together, activate his power, and awaken this sleeping lion.
... ... ... ... ... ..
... ... ... ... ... ... ..
Jump, dodge, attack, kill, win.
As agile as a lion, the strong boy roared at the monster.
He is very skilled in fighting and is more powerful than those hunters and knights.
Soon, a beast as huge as a hill lay at his feet, making a loud rumbling sound.
The boy walked along the scales to the beast's head and stabbed the sword in his hand into the opponent's weak point.
Completely ended the life of the giant beast.
Then he looked into the distance, frowning slightly.
From time to time, low roars could be heard in the lush forest.
There are other giant beasts in the forest.
The young man gazed at the forest, and from time to time, he saw those super beasts whose bodies were as big as a thousand meters. They were moving far away, but because of their huge bodies, they could be seen.
Those guys are like the Titans from mythology.
Huge and terrifying.
It gives people a feeling of being invincible.
They stay deep in the forest, and the entire area will be distorted by their existence.
Some strange power has contaminated them, causing their shapes to become distorted and terrifying.
Their huge tentacles and spikes are their most effective weapons, and a casual wave of them can cause buildings and giant trees to collapse and explode.
People die in large numbers.
No mortal could withstand a blow from those monsters.
Many people are so scared that they want to die even if they just look at these monsters, let alone fight them. They wish their parents had two more legs.
The young man standing on the head of the giant beast showed no fear at all, he tightly grasped the sword in his hand.
He swore that one day he would kill all these giant beasts.
No one told him to do this.
It's just that his heart told him that he must do it.
Cut off usable parts of the fallen behemoth.
The boy carried the cut and simply processed pieces of meat on his back and turned to walk out of the jungle.
His body was strong as a lion's, and his bare chest was powerful and sturdy, as if it were made of steel.
His long hair was extremely smooth, trailing behind his head, further highlighting his wildness and his unwillingness to be bound by the world.
He is the kind of person who belongs to the forest and to freedom.
The boy walked for a long time carrying the pieces of meat, from dark to dawn.
After several days and nights, we finally saw a wide road made of stone slabs.
Walking along the road, he soon saw a fortress city built like a tortoise shell.
The guards held weapons in their hands and watched the travelers and merchants coming in and out with vigilance.
When they saw the boy carrying the dried meat, they smiled.
"We thought you were dead. The odds of betting on you to be alive at the old tavern are now as high as a hundred times, but no one dares to buy. It seems that we have missed the opportunity to make a fortune."
The old soldier, who looked somewhat old, spoke to the young man.
"Yes, Lai En, you have been gone for a month and a half this time. We all thought you would not be able to walk out of the forest alive."
"It's a miracle, how did you do it?"
"You have to tell us about your legendary experience."
... ... ... ...
The boy nodded and agreed to tell the tavern about his hunting trip.
The guards let him into the city.
The boy returned to the human world and smiled as he looked at the hustle and bustle around him.
He sold his meat to a butcher and returned to his home.
The food, clothing, housing and transportation here all maintain the medieval style.
When traveling long distances, they relied on horse-drawn carriages, wore linen, and ate food that was basically cooked using simple methods such as boiling or roasting.
Everything seems so backward.
But some places reveal something unusual.
For example, the lighting they need is provided by the sun hanging in the city dome, without the need for the sun outside.
The weapons in people's hands can emit blue arcs of electricity, and with a casual wave, they can kill those powerful forest beasts.
Some wealthy travelers even have shields made of light that can withstand various attacks.
It's a slightly incongruous world.
Ryan was used to it. Maybe that was just how the world worked.
He returned to his humble home, changed his clothes, washed off the dirt, and walked toward the tavern.
Under the threat of the behemoth, people could only build their homes underground as much as possible.
Although there are giant beasts lurking underground, they are not a big threat to cities with knights and can be easily dealt with.
The knights are very powerful. They wield the armor bestowed by God and slay the beasts that dare to attack the city.
Each city is protected by a knightly order.
Their armor has been passed down from generation to generation and possesses terrifying power, capable of destroying mountains, rivers and lakes with ease.
Ryan had seen them in action, a beam of light flattening a forest, wiping it out completely.
The people in the tavern were in a commotion because of Ryan's arrival.
People call him the Lion, the Son of the Forest, and some malicious people call him a little lunatic.
He has lived here for fifteen years.
He started going into the forest to hunt at a very young age, and he came back alive every time, bringing back all kinds of wild animals, which shocked countless people.
Much of the world is covered in deep forests, home to all manner of terrible beasts twisted by Chaos.
Extremely cruel.
No one could safely cross the forest without the protection of the Knights.
Ryan can do this easily.
You can even continue to hunt wild beasts.
"You should join the Knights." A guest who was drinking said, "Then you will have brothers. They can help you defeat those beasts faster."
"Yeah, Ryan, why don't you join the Knights?"
"They are very powerful and have armor given by the gods."
... ... ... ... ... ..
The guests who were drinking were talking about it.
Encourage him to join the Knights.
The Knights had recruited this mysterious young man many times.
But every time the boy would refuse without hesitation.
After hearing the drinkers' discussion, Ryan shook his head and said that he had no intention of joining the Knights Templar, nor did he want to have any disputes with them.
There was always a strange voice in his heart.
The voice told him not to join the Knights.
Don’t be attached to any imaginary friendship like brotherhood.
Otherwise, all that will be left in the end is the bitterness of betrayal.
Lai En always thinks of some fragmented names in his mind.
Every time he thought of it, he would feel pain and cry for no reason.
He didn't know why either.
There was a force that kept stopping him from recalling the meaning of those names.
Suddenly, the pub fell silent.
Several steel giants in black armor walked in.
They sat in a corner of the tavern.
The guests in the tavern could see that they were not easy to deal with, and the aura they exuded was even more terrifying than those knights.
It was like a terrifying war monster walking out of a sea of corpses and blood.
Just sitting next to them made me feel an unprecedented fear, as if my blood was freezing.
They subconsciously looked elsewhere, not daring to look directly at the warriors in steel armor.
"He sealed off those memories." Ezekiel looked towards a corner of the tavern, where the young man Ryan was drinking.
“For him, the memories are too painful,” Azrael whispered. “No one can accept a series of betrayals, brothers, comrades, and everything they fought for was a lie.”
After suppressing the Horus Rebellion, Lionel Lion returned to the Caliban Monastery to find that his former comrade Luther had betrayed him.
With a fragile self-esteem, he was unwilling to admit that it was his own negligence and indifference that caused the split of the Dark Angel.
Venting his anger in a rage, he ordered his fleet to launch a devastating attack on Caliban to completely eliminate the seeds of corruption.
That battle was a sad one.
Ryan set foot on the land of Caliban with the scarred dark angels.
His rage made him lose his mind and he only wanted to kill Luther.
He once fought alongside the Emperor and freed countless worlds from the contamination of Chaos.
Now, he sees his homeland, Caliban, falling into the hands of the same evil force because of his mentor and comrades.
Ryan led the Dark Angels to raid the fortress he designed himself.
The two sides of the battle became close friends and brothers, and once made an oath that they believed to be unbreakable.
However, they met sword to sword on Caliban, and the ferocity of the fight made the gods laugh.
The ancient home of the Great Knights was reduced to ruins during their epic battle.
The Loyalist fleet continued its bombardment of the planet, destroying all remaining monastery fortresses.
The planet disintegrated in the fierce bombardment, leaving behind the solid fortress of Caliban.
Azrael learned about the course of the final battle from the manuscripts passed down from the Grand Master's era.
The former brothers have all demonstrated strength beyond that of mortal men.
The two were evenly matched in all aspects and fought fiercely.
In the end, the lion showed even greater strength and broke through Luther's defense.
The lion raised the sword high, but was unable to strike. He could only roar in despair like thunder, crying for everything he could not undo.
Luther seized the opportunity, unleashed his unholy power, and severely damaged the Primarch.
But when the lion fell down and struggled to get up.
The indelible humanity in Luther's heart broke through his evil.
The power of the gods faded, allowing his blinded eyes to once again see Lai En, who once regarded him as a brother.
Recalling the past when they fought side by side, pain filled the traitor's heart.
He abandoned himself, abandoned Lion, abandoned the Legion and the Emperor, all because of his own selfish desires.
Luther, realizing what he had done, fell to the ground in pain.
The gods laughed at this.
It is always pleasing to brothers to draw their swords against each other.
The evil god imprisoned in Caliban released terrible power, tearing apart time and space, completely destroying its prison, and throwing the lion into the future for ten thousand years. The lion was taken away by the dark watchers ten thousand years later and sent back to the Stone Fortress.
Luther was left alone lying in the ruins, bearing the bitterness of betrayal alone.
The remaining Dark Watchers re-seal the evil god, guide the dark angels on the road to fight against the warp, and protect the secrets of the Monolith Fortress and the Lion.
It was not until today that all the secrets came to light.
Luther did not lie, it was indeed the Dark Watcher who took Ryan away.
But it was not the Dark Watcher of that time, but the Dark Watcher of ten thousand years later.
The Caliban Warp Storm ten thousand years ago and the Three Artifacts incident ten thousand years later formed a closed loop of time and space.
If you didn't see it with your own eyes, I'm afraid no one would dare to believe that such a ridiculous thing could happen.
Of course, now is not the time to study the space-time continuum and whether the future is fixed.
The most important thing is how to awaken the lion.
The pain of betrayal made him close his heart and hide in his own world, replaying the scene of hunting the beast of Caliban again and again.
Ryan felt the gazes of those people.
He also looked over with caution, without any fear.
Those people were wearing heavy steel armor and had firm and complicated eyes when they looked at him.
There is expectation, regret, and a hint of sadness.
Lai En was a little confused. Could it be that he knew these guys?
It shouldn't be like this!
I haven't even joined the Knights Templar, and I've always been a loner, so there's no way I could know someone like this.
After a moment, the foreigners in steel armor came up to Ryan.
"Are you the best hunter here?" the man asked.
"No, if you want to find a hunter to deal with those giant beasts, you can find the Knights. They are the strongest hunters?" Ryan shook his head and denied it.
"We don't need to hunt giant beasts, we just need a good hunter." The man looked at Ryan and said.
Lai En stood up, looked around, and then looked at the other person.
Although he is only a teenager, his body develops much faster than that of ordinary people.
Although he was only fifteen years old, he was already over two meters tall, and was no less tall than the stranger in steel armor in front of him.
"My salary is very high. You can't afford me. Find someone else," Lai En said.
"I can pay you any compensation you need. For the sake of integrity, I can use this sword as collateral." The man took out an exquisitely shaped longsword. The broad blade was engraved with special patterns only found on knights' weapons.
When Lai En saw this sword, he inexplicably felt a sense of familiarity.
But he couldn't name the sword.
There is a voice that wants to shout out, but can't.
He felt that he knew the name of the sword, but why couldn't he call it out?
"Okay, I agree." Ryan nodded.
"When can you leave?" the man asked. "We need a guide to help us go deeper into the forest. This will take a long time."
"Anytime," Ryan said. "I'm alone. I don't need to prepare anything."
"Where is your brother?" the man asked.
Lai En was silent for a moment. When he said this word, he felt vaguely painful.
He looked into the other's eyes and spoke loudly.
"I don't need a brother, and I don't have one."
... ... ... ...
... ... ... ... ... ... ..
The crowd walked in the lush forest, and the mutated beasts roared.
Those terrible sounds echoed in the dark forest.
If an ordinary person heard this sound, he would probably be scared to death.
However, Azrael and the others had gone through countless battles and had gone through Primaris upgrades, gaining even greater power.
Some beasts tainted by Chaos are nothing to them.
Until they encountered a terrifying beast covered in bone spurs and wielding a giant behemoth.
Its body is thousands of feet high, as continuous as a mountain range, occupying a vast area.
Its eyes were like blood moons, emitting extreme malice.
Those tentacles were slimy, smelly, and extremely poisonous; the smell alone was enough to wither the trees.
Those spikes are so sharp that they can easily pierce even steel.
The giant beast lurks in a huge lake.
No one realized that the clear lake water was actually a terrifying beast.
When the beast revealed its true form, they had no way to escape and could only draw their weapons and fight.
Ryan kept jumping and rolling to avoid the attacks of the tentacles.
However, he was soon forced into a desperate situation.
“Take this sword.” Azriel threw the sword in his hand to him.
It was a heavy two-handed sword, but Ryan caught it easily and pressed the activation rune.
Extremely skilled.
It was as if this sword had fought with him countless times.
Holding the sword, Lai En cut off the monster's tentacles with one stroke, and even the hard bone spurs were easily cut off.
"What is the name of this sword?" Lai En looked at the stranger.
“The Lion’s Fury,” Azrael said. “Forged like a hero’s sword.”
Ryan was stunned for a moment, and some voices in his mind became stronger and stronger.
Someone is calling.
No!
Lai En said painfully.
“This is your mission, Ryan.” Azrael blocked an incoming tentacle.
He looked at Ryan and said loudly, "Stop running away. The Empire needs you, and your brother Guilliman needs you too."
"No!" The severe pain in his brain made Lai En scream in agony. The sealed memories were trying to resurface.
Black lines appeared on his body, and a pair of strange wings made of black mist appeared behind him.
"Guilliman has awakened." Azrael showed a trace of joy when he saw Ryan's abnormality. He shouted while fighting the monster, "He needs your help, lion. Have you forgotten your honor and mission?"
"No." Ryan screamed again. He fell to his knees. When he raised his head, his eyes were burning with fire and his wings were rolling behind him.
Black flames burned along the lines on his body, like a mythical angel of punishment.
He is the Lord of the Dark Angels, a god forged by the hand of the Emperor.
The black flames burned fiercely, and the monster turned into ashes in an instant.
The power of a lion cannot be guessed.
"There is no glory," Ryan shouted, his voice full of anger. "It's all over. There is no glory. There is only ashes and betrayal. What is the difference between what we created and what we destroyed?"
During the Great Crusade, the Lion destroyed countless dynasties that were unwilling to obey the Emperor.
When a king was destroying them, he asked him why he was destroying them.
The lion said it was for redemption.
The king said that his dynasty had existed for five thousand years and had safely passed through the Long Night, so they did not need redemption.
The lion laughed at his short-sightedness and stupidity, destroyed the dynasty, and cut off the other's head with his own hands.
Now think back on what the gods did to the human empire.
What's the difference between what they did to those dynasties
The human empire claims to bring salvation, and the gods also claim to bring salvation.
What is the difference between the two
It's nothing more than one terrible hell and another even more terrible hell.
Are his achievements truly glorious
Perhaps it was just the sin of a vain man who wanted to conquer and kill.
Didn’t Horus’ betrayal and Luther’s betrayal prove this
"There is no glory." Ryan shed tears, and he howled at his offspring like a madman. "No. Everything is over. We have failed."
“No, Ryan, it is not too late. We have not failed yet,” Azrael said. “We can still have a future under the leadership of the regent.”
"Lion."
"The Lord of the Great Knights."
"Come back, we need you."
Ezekiel and others spoke up one after another, saying that this was Lai En's home ground, and he could only wake up if he wanted to.
If a Primarch resisted returning, who could bring him back
“No,” Ryan yelled. “Make it over.”
"We did a lot of things wrong, but it's not too late."
A voice came from behind the fighting people.
Guilliman appeared behind everyone at some point.
Azrael and Ezekiel looked at each other in surprise.
No one denies the power of the Imperial Regent.
But his psychic power is so poor among many Primarchs that he can be described as a rookie.
Even ordinary psychics can easily defeat him.
How did he get in here
You know, they were able to get in here because they were all highly skilled psychics.
It can allow the spirit to leave the body and travel into the realm of the other side.
"Guilliman." Ryan looked at Guilliman, who was wearing a blue power armor. The other party twisted his body unnaturally, and it was obvious that he was not used to this state of mental travel in the warp.
"It's me, Ryan." Guilliman stepped forward. "It's awkward to meet under these circumstances."
"What do you want to say?" Ryan said, "If you want to persuade me, then don't persuade me anymore. We failed, didn't we? When I saw Luther's rebellion, I knew that mankind would never be able to get rid of the pollution of Chaos."
"When the Emperor showed up on Caliban, I knew what he was going to do. It was a crazy plan, and I became fascinated by it. I participated in it and tried to make it happen. But in the end, you see, it all failed. The Emperor is gone, and there is no way humanity can escape the taint of Chaos."
"I should have understood long ago that we are not special. Countless species that have long been extinct held the same expectations and did the same things. In the end, they all became history, becoming an insignificant wave in the long river of time."
"Every species believes that it has something unique and that it can break out of this vicious circle of civilization development, until finally all species and all empires are the same, and they will all be destroyed."
"That's right." Guilliman nodded in agreement. "Indeed, a powerful empire always has enemies. When one enemy falls, another will emerge, losing the experience and lessons of the former, and then make a comeback."
Ryan was stunned for a moment, and he looked at Guilliman.
Is this guy really here to persuade me
"But what does it matter? Each generation should do its own thing." Guilliman smiled. "We were endowed with superhuman strength and wisdom. For this, we were arrogant and self-righteous. We subconsciously accepted the Emperor's brainwashing and ignored the hardships of the process for the sake of final victory. But in the end, we found that we actually gained nothing."
"We thought we were protecting humanity, but we never listened to their voices. We built a vast empire, but we forgot why we built it, and we forgot our original intentions. It wasn't until I woke up again and saw those men and women who suffered but still insisted on living that I realized this. We are not great because of ourselves, but because of those who are willing to follow us."
"Ryan, it's not too late now. Let us correct our mistakes, rebuild this empire, and put it on the right track. We will listen to the voices of ordinary people, love what they love, and think about their suffering. We once owed them, we once promised them beauty, but in the end we gave them hell."
Guilliman placed his hand on Ryan's shoulder.
"No one could be better than you, Ryan. Those damned traitors will cry out for your name, and they'll cry like a fart at your return."
