"Thank you for your hard work, Guidos," said Guilliman.
Guidos was chosen from among those psykers willing to serve him, and was responsible for maintaining the Mechanical Magus's clone deep within the Macragge's Glory.
This area of Macragge's Glory is kept strictly confidential, and even loyalists such as Sicarius are not allowed to enter at will.
"It is my greatest honor to serve the master." Guidos raised his eyes which were all white, and said respectfully.
"It is an honor to have your loyalty. Let's get started. I need to know what message Cawl sent me so that I can take control of the overall situation." Guilliman nodded.
Guidos nodded and turned to walk into the depths of darkness.
Guilliman followed him inside.
The further we walked, the hotter we felt, and some machinery hidden somewhere began to hum.
The uncomfortable psychic oppression hit Guilliman heavily.
Guilliman suppressed his discomfort and followed Guidos.
The two finally came to a big door.
The structure of the door is very complex, consisting of three sets of staggered glued tortoise shell meshes up to one meter thick.
When they reached the door, Guidos moved slightly aside and Guilliman stepped forward to have his identity checked.
A red light scanned the original body's child's hole.
"Retinal test passed."
After the retinal test, various security inspection devices emerged from the steel wall.
Test the Primarch's physical, mental and spiritual state.
Only after everything was confirmed was Guilliman allowed to enter the secret room.
The two walked into the room, which was filled with deep darkness and they could not see anything.
"Lighting," Guidos called out.
The mechanical equipment in the room hummed, and then turned into a low rumble.
One after another, white light sources lit up above the room, illuminating the outline of the room.
The details in the room are clearly visible, with ten closed panels arranged at eye level and pipes hung from the ceiling, fastened with metal nails.
"Cawl's psychic communication was unusually dull, lacking the vitality that comes from the mind touching the vast void. I guess he might have used a machine to send it, although I once thought that such a thing was impossible. But I have to say that he is a master."
"You could say that," Guilliman shrugged. If he didn't have a database, the Mechanical Magus Cawl would definitely be the one with the most knowledge among humans.
He lived for ten thousand years, truly ten thousand years, which was unimaginable for other lives in the empire.
Most of humanity's Immortals either died in the Horus Heresy or went missing during it.
According to the information currently known, Cawl is the longest-lived person in the Empire.
"His message was simple, and not subject to the corruption that psychic communications often suffer after the Great Rift opened. Cawl's message was not interfered with, nor was it maliciously tampered with. This technology is invaluable to us now. The Great Rift has changed a lot, and it has also put the fate of our race at risk."
"That will change, Guidos, I promise," said Guilliman.
"I believe it, my Lord." Guidos stepped towards a large machine.
"Initialize the sequence according to the will of the God of All Machines."
Guidos, leaning on a crutch, gave the activation command.
A slight creaking sound came from the curved steel wall, followed by the harsh sound of machinery.
Detection rays radiated from the wall, scanning the person in front.
Identity check passed, Astropath, Guidos. Please provide the second unlock.
At the prompt of the mechanical voice, Guilliman stepped forward and let the ray scan himself.
Identity confirmed, Primarch: Roboute Guilliman, Regent of the Imperium of Man, Lord of Ultramar.
Identity scan passed, genetic scan initiated.
A horizontal beam of green light shot out from the wall, spreading up and down, sweeping over the Primarch and the Astropath.
Genetic scan confirmation, identity confirmation, and password confirmation required.
Along with the sound, Guilliman's position was enveloped by a cone of light, blocking all sound outside.
The code was given to Guidos by Cawl and kept absolutely confidential. Even the Primarch was not allowed to know that part of the code.
This method is intended to prevent Guilliman's memory from being read by others, which would lead to the destruction of encrypted communications.
Kaul once said, "Never underestimate chaos, they are much smarter than we think."
After Guidos finished speaking the code, the sound shield covering Guilliman disappeared.
A shield was raised on Guidos' side to block out the sound.
Guilliman revealed his part of the code.
The dark code detection is passed and the main system is activated.
Accompanied by mechanical sounds, the metal panels on the wall slid down one by one.
Each panel is backed by an illuminated tempered glass cabinet.
Each glass case is filled with nutrient solution, in which severed human heads are soaked.
The neck of the head was wrapped in metal sheets, and neat cables and pipes extending from small holes at the bottom were connected to the machine above the glass cabinet.
The machines hidden behind the panel started up quickly, and the sound of the equipment became gentle. The circuits engraved on the cabinet glass also flashed the same light, and the faces of the human heads began to twist and become painful.
"My lord," Guidos said softly.
"Well, you can leave now." Guilliman waved his hand.
Guidos performed the Sky Eagle Salute again, put on his hood, and walked into the darkness.
Guilliman paid no attention to his departure, instead watching as the circuits of the room were activated one by one.
A dull metallic sound was heard.
It was the sound of the Mechanical Sage, like the friction of brass, without any emotion.
"My Lord Primarch."
"Cawl, how's the progress?" Guilliman asked.
The one who was talking to Guilliman was Cawl's clone, or his secondary personality.
Cawl would convert the relevant information into code and send it out, which would then be received by the Macragge's Glory and converted into information.
The clone used this information to converse with Guilliman.
Such technology has already touched a certain red line of the empire.
This is one of the reasons why Guilliman trusts Cawl.
Without his protection, once Caul's technology is leaked, he will be sent to the stake. It is estimated that his brain will be directly offline and turned into a machine slave, and his mental consciousness will be used by his enemies to conduct various inhuman experiments.
The radical Kaul provoked many conservative sages, and the conflict between the two sides was irreconcilable. If it were not for the existence of the empire, they would have already declared war in the name of the God of All Machines.
"The situation at the Archmagus is progressing well. New technologies have been put into use. The Primaris Space Marine Program is being initiated. The Space Marines will receive four more technological improvements: the Tendon Coil, the Hymn Pituitary, the Belisarius Forge, and the Heart of Guilliman."
"Guilliman's Heart?" Guilliman frowned.
"Yes, the Mechanical Magos has gained new inspiration from your technology. The gene engine in the super soldier technology will be integrated with the Heart of Guilliman, which will give the warriors more possibilities. Your wisdom is so profound and awe-inspiring, Master Primarch. The emergence of the Heart of Guilliman will be epoch-making. It perfectly fits the human physique and can easily shape humans into supermen. More importantly, this unique organ can be shut down remotely and can paralyze those Primaris Space Marines who are unwilling to obey the orders of the Empire. In this way, we can avoid the recurrence of Horus's rebellion to the greatest extent."
"The Mechanical Magus even intends to change the surgical procedures for Space Marines and list the Heart of Guilliman as the first organ to be implanted. In that way, the success rate of the surgery can be increased, and the goal of mass-producing Primaris Space Marines can be achieved."
"The plan is crazy, but it is indeed worth studying. I will ask someone to give you more authority." Guilliman smiled, not caring about the consequences of doing so.
