Chapter 57: Grey Knight

The sound of communication is so sacred.

It makes you feel like your soul has been cleansed.

Saints are the embodiment of devout faith and the manifestation of the Emperor's will.

Their presence is proof that human hope has never died.

Fikris and Sicarius looked at each other. Even though they had met the saint several times, they still couldn't help but feel awe when they heard the voice.

"Open the void shield and allow boarding." Guilliman's voice was extremely calm.

With the flash of subspace light, a group of people appeared in the bridge control room.

Leading the group was Celestine, who was wearing golden armor and had a pair of white wings behind her.

With her soft golden hair loose and her flawless female face, she was so noble that no one would dare to disrespect her.

Behind the saint stood a warrior wearing gray-white Terminator power armor. He had taken off his helmet and placed it at his waist. A heavy giant sword was tied to his hands with chains.

"Your Excellency." Celestine bowed.

Guilliman nodded, then turned his gaze to the warrior behind Celestine, who exuded an aura different from that of a Space Marine.

"Let me introduce you to Clovis, the leader and champion of the Second Brotherhood of the Grey Knights, the Purifier Knights. I met him when I was chasing the traitors. He traveled through the raging warp storm to Ultramar to find you. He brought a very important message."

Celestine stepped aside to make room for Guilliman and Clovis, and introduced Clovis's background as a Grey Knights champion.

The eternal enemy of mankind will always be chaos.

The ultimate goal of those horrible beings is not the total destruction of humanity, but corruption, subjugation, and eternal torture.

The evil gods long for the universe to fall into eternal chaos and for all life to become playthings in their hands until the day the universe perishes.

In order to prevent the human empire from being destroyed, in order to prevent the fire of human civilization from dying out in the dark and cruel universe, and in order to leave the last glimmer of hope.

The Emperor left a backup plan for mankind, and that is the Grey Knights.

The Grey Knights were created by the Emperor and Malcador.

At the end of the Horus Heresy, the eight founders of the Grey Knights were summoned in secret and given a special mission.

These eight founders are absolutely loyal to the Empire and humanity, know the secrets of the Warp, and each of them has faced demons without being corrupted.

With the help of these eight people, the Emperor used gene-seed that did not belong to any Primarch to rebuild an entirely new chapter.

And placed this new regiment on Saturn's cold satellite - Titan.

When the solar system was under siege by Horus and other traitor legions.

The Emperor used his powerful psychic powers to free Titan from the constraints of reality and hide it in the Warp.

After everything was settled, they returned to the real starry sky and began to devote themselves to the cause of fighting against demons.

This is how the Grey Knights came to be.

There are no records of the Grey Knights among the common people or even the nobles of the Empire.

Different from the preventive nature of the Demonic Inquisition.

Once the Grey Knights are dispatched, it often means that the situation in the area has reached a point where it is out of control.

A polluted planet will, at the very least, result in the sterilization of all inhabitants.

In serious cases, orbital bombing will be used to wipe out the area, leaving no one alive.

The most terrifying thing is that the Grey Knights have no record of betrayal in the Empire.

Their loyalty is absolute.

“My Lord.” Clovis saluted Guilliman, servos singing through his armor, which was clearly well maintained.

"It is a pleasure to meet a Grey Knight. I thought you all had some opinions and were unwilling to come to see me." Guilliman smiled. There was a group of Grey Knights in Macragge, but he ordered them to supervise the research of unnatural forces.

"The Grey Knights are equally excited about the Primarch's return, but..." Clovis looked at Guilliman with a serious gaze, as if he seemed to be hesitant to speak.

"You may speak freely, Clovis."

"I see the thread of fate entangled with the devil in your body. I'd like to ask if you are being targeted by them."

Clovis asked cautiously.

Seeing the fate line is Clovis's innate ability.

He can always see the lifeline of every life.

This talent can help him search for demons better and find their weaknesses.

"I have been targeted ten thousand years ago, Clovis. There is no need to worry about it. They can neither corrupt me nor hurt me." Guilliman shook his head and smiled.

He stood up, walked down from his throne, and stood before Clovis.

Even in his Terminator armor, Clovis had to look up to see the primarch's noble face.

"Sir," Clovis said respectfully.

"Your sword is very special." Guilliman sensed the devil's aura, and his eyes were fixed on Clovis's giant sword.

Clovis undid the magnetic buckle and held the greatsword up with both hands.

It was a huge black sword with various twisted patterns etched on it.

These lines are full of malice and corruption. Just one glance at them will firmly entrench themselves in people's minds and slowly corrode their hearts.

Once there is no way to resist, you will become a slave to the black sword.

"This is a cursed black sword, and a twisted demon is sealed within it, Antar. I have assumed the duties of the lord of the castle and have been ordered to guard it."

Guilliman reached out and took up the black sword.

This made Clovis feel nervous, as the black sword had a strong ability to corrupt people's hearts.

By the time the Grey Knights Brotherhood noticed the sword, it had already corrupted the entire planet, enslaving all life on the planet.

In order to remove the pollution it brought, the Grey Knights had to use the Extermination Order to destroy the entire world, collect the Black Sword, and hand it over to the most powerful Grey Knight to guard.

As if feeling the touch of other life, the Antar Black Sword trembled, and it saw the opportunity to be released.

"Release me, and you will gain supreme power. The entire galaxy will be shaped according to your will, mortal."

A strange voice sounded in Guilliman's mind, causing him to frown.

Clovis, who also heard the voice, looked nervous. He shouldn't have brought the black sword to see the Primarch.

"Get out of my head, vile demon," Guilliman said, looking at the black sword.

"How dare you despise me? Do you know who I am?"

The black sword trembled, as if a demon was rampaging inside the giant sword, venting its anger.

"You are looking for death, idiot."

Guilliman let out a low roar, and the powerful willpower and command of the Primarch, as well as the power in the Sword of the Emperor, were all guided to slam into the being that was trying to pierce into his spiritual world.

A shrill scream was heard, and the trembling black sword calmed down.

Kroll looked shocked. Ever since he took over the black sword, the demon inside had been chattering non-stop, but now it was silent.

Guilliman didn't say anything about this.

Even the great demons under the Chaos God were humiliated and engraved with names by him. How could a demon imprisoned in a giant sword, who did not belong to the Four Gods, be his opponent

"These demons are always so annoying." Guilliman grasped the hilt of the sword, looked at the twisted lines, and looked at Clovis, "What abilities do the demons in here have?"

"I seldom use it. I carry this greatsword only for my duty of protection," said Clovis.

"Let us see what this demon knows." Guilliman tapped the blade of the black sword with his hand.

"Its words are nothing but lies, sir. There is no need to waste time," said Clovis. "I have more important things to report."

"No hurry." Guilliman waved his hand, indicating that Clovis could talk about his affairs later, and then looked down at the black sword in his hand, "When facing good people, the gangsters will lie unscrupulously, but when facing people who are more ruthless than them, they will be honest and willing to open their hearts to them. Do you know why?"

Before Clovis could answer, Guilliman gave the answer.

"Because good people won't retaliate against them, but those who are cruel and ruthless will make them suffer. The same is true for demons. They act recklessly when facing the weak, but they are submissive when facing the strong."

Under the gazes of Celestine and Clovis, Guilliman walked back to his throne and picked up the Emperor's Sword. Golden flames rose up, and the strange patterns on the black sword began to flow, trying their best to stay away from the flames of the Emperor's Sword, running around like a rat about to be burned by the fire.

The piercing scream echoed in everyone's mind, twisted and full of malice.

"Tell me, demon, what do you know? Your information will be my consideration for sparing your life."
