What Bad Thoughts Can Batman Have

Chapter 65: scarecrow

Views:

My name is Jonathan Crane, also known as Scarecrow.

It's a crazy world to me, it always is:

Madness is on the left, chaos is on the right.

For the lunatics in Arkham, they simply don't understand what unity and cooperation are.

Most of the time, even if they work together briefly, they soon start to kill each other, and then one madman after another destroys themselves, until in the end, all that remains is Gotham's lost potential.

…the people of Arkham are too easily victimized by their own hubris, and so—

That’s why I had to make sure this time would be different.

This time, Scarecrow will be the commander-in-chief.

And as far as I know, a good commander always has a backup plan.

I was planning this when I was working with the Joker.

"Oswald! My old friend. You have given me a great surprise."

The Scarecrow gave the Penguin a warm hug, then looked at Mayor Carlo with a smile, who was tied up with a smelly sock stuffed in his mouth.

"Ooooooooo! Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

"What a timely gift - for us who are trying to conquer the whole city!"

The Scarecrow took out the fear potion and sprayed a large cloud of mist directly onto Mayor Carlo's face. The poor guy let out a howl as if he was dying and fainted instantly.

"There's no use fainting."

The Scarecrow was talking, fiddling with poor Mayor Carlo, and silently observing the two guys next to the Penguin with his peripheral vision.

Deadshot, a mercenary. He knew him. The one next to him was the Cheshire Cat, which he also knew. It made sense for them to appear next to the Penguin—

It seems that the penguin really didn't play any tricks this time.

"Of course, Klein, we are deep partners."

The Penguin smiled and walked into the middle of the villains of Arkham and picked up the champagne by himself: "After all, we are all part of Arkham."

He first poured a few glasses of wine for Poison Ivy and Harley and the others, exchanged greetings in a very familiar manner, and then toasted them one by one. The atmosphere was harmonious and cordial.

"Victor..."

Mr. Freeze looked at him coldly.

"Don't be so cold."

"I don't believe you, Copper Pat," Mr. Freeze said, "Given your many betrayals in the past, do you really think I will join our camp?"

"Don't be like this, Victor." Scarecrow said, "Penguin is our important partner, please give me some face."

Mr. Freeze poured the drink given by the Penguin directly onto the ground. He opened his hood and blew out a breath of cold air. The drink instantly froze into ice chips before it even hit the ground.

The Penguin Man smiled: "It's okay, it's okay."

He walked happily to the other side:

"Wow, isn't this the Clayface..."

"Is there any problem with the other party?" The Scarecrow turned around quietly and looked at the man-bat.

"Did he attract any of Bane's men?"

Man-Bat shook his head. "No, Copperpat is very honest. He did not bring any helpers except his two bodyguards. Bane's army showed no signs of mobilization, nor did they use any weapons to attack.

Copper Pat didn't betray us, and I think he knew that if he did something, with so many of us, we could kill him in an instant."

The Scarecrow nodded.

The banquet was still going on, with singing and music playing, and all the lunatics in Arkham gathered together.

The Scarecrow raised his glass with satisfaction. This was the correct way to cooperate with others. He found that his previous choice to cooperate with the clown was really stupid.

The Joker is too strong, and he can't control his behavior at all. It has to be these people, these ordinary Arkham compatriots, who are more submissive, easier to control, and easier to persuade than the Joker.

But Scarecrow never thought that they were also weaker, more vulnerable, and easier to defeat than the clown...

"My fellow countrymen, to the end of an era and the beginning of a brand new future!"

Everyone raised their glasses together.

Then suddenly.

“Ahhh…”

Without any warning, Mr. Freeze howled loudly under the high temperature of his full body armor. He twisted wildly on the ground. High-temperature steam came out from the gaps in his armor, burning his body and making him suffer excruciating pain.

Then, before Firefly, Clayface, and Scarecrow could put down their raised glasses, his Arkham companions he recruited fell to the ground almost instantly.

"What's going on, this is..."

He suddenly looked at the Penguin: "Oswald!"

"Catch him!"

He loudly gave orders to Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and the others, who were the only compatriots who were not hit.

He shouted loudly: "Catch the traitor Penguin, he betrayed us!"

"Okay." He heard Killer Croc say this, which made him feel a little relieved. Who did Penguin turn to? Was it Bane

But none of this matters. As long as he catches the other person and tortures him thoroughly, he will be able to understand everything.

He wanted to let Penguin experience how horrible fear toxin was, that extreme fear—

The next second, he was grabbed by Killer Croc.

"?"

"Asshole, I want you to catch Penguin - damn it."

He immediately realized the situation.

"Sorry, I'm a traitor." Killer Croc scratched his head and said in a muffled voice.

"Me too," said Poison Ivy.

"Of course I am too, cute little cotton~" Harley said with a smile.

The Ventriloquist walked over and kicked Mr. Freeze who was lying on the ground.

Bang!

His foot kicked off Mr. Freeze's hood directly, making a crisp sound.

"You...you guys." Scarecrow's voice sounded a little dull under the linen mask: "It's hard to imagine, what did Bane use to convince you?"

"Do you still think it's Bane?"

"Not Bane? There's no point in lying, forget it."

The Scarecrow shook his head: "Fortunately, I am prepared."

He shouted, "Court of Owls! Where are the claws you promised?"

"The Court of Owls did not promise the Claws." Lincoln March walked out of the darkness, his face hidden under a silver-white mask.

"I brought them though."

Lincoln March looked at the Arkhams lying on the ground with disdain.

"Jonathan Crane, you have failed the expectations of the Court of Owls."

"Stop talking nonsense," said the Scarecrow.

He looked at Mr. Freeze who was wailing on the ground: "This doesn't look like something that Penguin can make at all. Instead, it looks a bit like... a bit like..."

He looked at the Penguin:

"Oswald, who are you working for?"

In fact, Jonathan Crane had already guessed the answer, but he was unwilling to believe it because it did not fit the behavior of the man he was familiar with. He paid too much attention to Bane...

"Damn it, Klein. We trusted you, so we came to attend your meeting, but you invited a traitor in with great fanfare! You have to think of a solution!"

He heard Dr. Pig-faced yelling, "My hundred babies seem to have been attacked by someone outside. They didn't obey my call—"

Harley Quinn jumped high and attacked the Scarecrow first.

The scarecrow repeated his old trick and sprayed a large cloud of mist on her face, but the woman, who was laughing madly, was not affected at all and hit the table next to the scarecrow who dodged away with a stick.

"This is why I hate clowns. You white maniacs are completely against pharmacological-"

"Watch out, Harley! We have to catch him alive-" Poison Ivy yelled. She carefully conjured a vine and rolled it towards the scarecrow, trying to be as gentle as possible.

"This is really an unexpected situation." The scarecrow rolled backwards nimbly. "What a pity! The things I originally prepared were not suitable for dealing with such a situation."

"What do you mean?"

The Penguin, who was standing at ease nearby, frowned slightly: "What have you prepared?"
