District 1, Huadu, Manker Street.
This was once one of the most tragic battlefields of the War of Independence. It is located on the edge of Huadu. On the north side of the street is a slum with low bungalows and pigeon buildings. Most of the people living inside are old Mexicans who are involved in gangs and poor blacks. The basic livelihood facilities are extremely imperfect, especially after the war. This is a forgotten corner of District 1.
On the right side of Manker Street is the Pulai New District, where most of the people living are the elite class of District 1. When the night falls, the colorful high-rise buildings in the Pulai New District are dazzling and magnificent, and the dazzling light will shine on the corners of the slums. Perhaps this is the only way for the two regions to communicate.
When the War of Independence broke out, fierce fighting lasted for three days and nights, with more than 20,000 casualties and the ground covered in blood. Therefore, every corner of the streets here is filled with the flavor of history.
…
“Squeak!”
A commercial vehicle stopped at the north side of Manker Street. Su Tianyu opened the door, waved his hand and shouted, "Come on, brothers, let's start a passionate night!"
Wawa got off the car first: "Don't think I don't know what you are thinking. You just want to get our Qiqi drunk and make her fall asleep."
"Why not sleep with you?" Su Tianyu asked with a squint.
"I haven't developed well yet. I suggest you keep me for two more years, brother!" Wawa has a cheerful personality and loves to joke, otherwise Dabai would never tease her.
"Okay." Su Tianyu nodded in agreement and pointed to a bar not far away and said, "It's right here."
"It looks so shabby!" Wawa was a little dissatisfied and turned to look at the slums across the street: "I heard it's quite messy here."
"It's okay, haha." Su Tianyu led the three of them and walked into the small bar.
This bar is called "Veteran Bar". Before An Qiqi came in, she was very reluctant because she had lived in Huadu for a while and knew it was a mess. She also instinctively thought that the customers of this bar would be mostly black brothers. But she didn't expect that when she entered the door, she found that all the people playing in the bar were Chinese, and there were no people of other skin colors.
The bar was dimly lit and had melodious music. Most of the guests were dressed in shabby clothes and had obvious disabilities, and most of them were men.
An Qiqi looked at the bar curiously and felt it was a bit weird.
Su Tianyu walked to the bar with ease and said to a Chinese woman in her thirties, "Long time no see, Sister Hong!"
The woman who was chatting with someone at the bar turned her head and looked at Su Tianyu, her expression slightly stunned: "Oh, Su Dakeng is back."
"Haha, did you miss me?" Su Tianyu grinned.
The woman had fair skin and was wearing a tight cheongsam. She wasn't stunning, but she was very attractive. Her phoenix eyes were very bright. "Haha, I missed you so much. I missed that you owed me more than a thousand dollars for wine before you left!"
When Su Tianyu heard the other party mention money, he immediately pointed at An Qiqi, Wawa and others and said, "These are all my friends. They are here to drink. Please make arrangements."
The woman glanced at An Qiqi and the others, and replied with a smile: "Sure, what would you like to drink?"
"Old rules, keep it simple and rough, you arrange it!" Su Tianyu ordered, pointing to the dark corridor inside the house and said: "I'll go find those guys."
"Okay." The woman nodded.
"You guys play first, I'm going to go meet some friends." After Su Tianyu greeted An Qiqi and others, he walked to the side of the room.
An Qiqi and Wawa had never been to such an occasion before. Looking at the drunken patrons around them, they felt nervous and weak, and seemed to be very uncomfortable.
Sister Hong stood at the bar and didn't talk to An Qiqi and the others. She just skillfully used various cocktail making instruments to make cocktails for them.
Sitting on the high chair, Bai Hongbo lit a cigarette and looked at Sister Hong with a dull look, without saying a word.
After a while, Sister Hong mixed three sets of wine, each set consisted of large, medium, and small cups. The colors of the wine looked very dazzling and beautiful.
"Roll the dice!" Sister Hong pushed the wine glasses to the three people and said with a chuckle, "I lost, so I'll waive the cost of your glass of wine. You lost, so you have to drink a glass of wine. OK?"
Bai Hongbo glanced at the other person, picked up the largest cup and said, "No need, I'll drink it first."
After he finished speaking, Bai Hongbo, who was in a very bad mood, drank two glasses of liquor in a row. He immediately felt his head buzzing and stars in his eyes.
Sister Hong was shocked: "This could kill people, brother!"
"If I die, I'll just take a few sips!" Bai Hongbo took a deep puff of smoke, feeling dizzy and the whole scene in the house seemed vague.
"Come, I want to play with you." An Qiqi shouted to Sister Hong.
The two rolled the dice, and An Qiqi, who had no experience in nightclubs, lost two games in a row. She gritted her teeth and drank the medium and small glasses of wine.
"You can't drink, but you can sing a song for everyone." Sister Hong said to An Qiqi.
"I... I can drink!" An Qiqi was also a little dizzy, but still insisted stubbornly.
…
Deep in the corridor, Su Tianyu reached out, pushed open a door, and walked into the room.
The lights in the room were dim. A person was lying on a row of wine boxes, covered with a dirty thin blanket, with his back to the door, and he seemed to be sleeping.
Su Tianyu walked forward lightly, bent over, and reached out to pinch the other person's nose.
“Bang!”
As soon as Su Tianyu stretched out his hand, the other party grabbed his wrist.
"Okay, veteran, even though you're so drunk, can you still hear someone coming in?" Su Tianyu teased with a smile.
The man lying on the ground sat up dazedly and glanced at Su Tianyu with narrowed eyes: "Damn it, I was just about to fall asleep. Damn it, I got beaten up in Longcheng, and now I'm back?"
"Well, I got knocked down by someone, so I came back to get help." Su Tianyu bent down and sat down.
Under the light, the man sitting there straightened up, revealing his true appearance. He had a square face and sharp features, but he looked very sloppy, with long hair and an unshaved beard. In addition, the clothes he wore seemed to have not been washed for a long time. In short, he looked like a beggar.
This man used to be Su Tianyu’s company commander. His name is Zheng Han and he is 35 years old this year.
Zheng Han yawned, picked up the quilt on his body, stretched out his hand and asked, "Do you have a cigarette?"
Su Tianyu reached out, took out a cigarette box and threw it to the other party.
"Damn, was he really beaten up in Longcheng?" Zheng Han's hands were shaking, and he fumbled for a long time before he found the lighter from the cardboard box.
"Ah," Su Tianyu nodded: "I almost died!"
Zheng Han lit a cigarette and asked calmly, "I don't know where Douzi and the others are going. Should I go back with you?"
"Are you sober?" Su Tianyu asked with a smile.
"Whether you sober up or not, it won't affect the battle!" Zheng Han smoked a cigarette: "You treat everyone tonight, and I'll go back with you tomorrow."
Su Tianyu tilted his neck and looked at the other person, grinning brightly.
…
Inside the Yu family apartment.
Yu Jinrong walked out of the study and looked up at Yu Mingyuan who had just returned: "I'm going to meet someone tomorrow."
