Above the Seven Towers

Chapter 466: Captured prisoners

Glade's body was made of pure magic power, without any life force contained in it, so he would not be affected by the puppet poison. Even if he was covered in black liquid, he only needed to disperse his body, turn into earrings, and then turn back into his original young man.

The wave he released was the magic of the Tower of Forging: Soul Stripping. It could drive away any foreign will attached to a person or object, freeing them from the control of others.

The Forging Tower has few types of magic, and the restrictions are relatively strong, but each magic is forged through thousands of hammers. Any Forging Tower magic must have a very good effect in the field it belongs to, just like a hammer hitting the ground. Just like this alien soul stripping, not only is the range very large, but it is almost impossible for the puppeteer to be immune to it.

"Damn it! Get up!" the puppeteer growled.

But the four puppets did not move.

What kind of magic is this!

The puppeteer knew that the situation was extremely dangerous. He pressed his hand and a ring activated a magic shield. He took out a magic bottle with gemstones and shouted, "Stop! This is a space bottle containing puppet poison. If I detonate this thing, the puppet poison will spread all over the valley. Everyone on the mountain will become poison puppets. No one will survive! Unless you retreat to the room and let me go, no one will survive! Not only you, but everyone outside will be buried with me."

"Haven't you figured it out yet, idiot?" Glade said calmly, "This poison has no effect on me at all."

He stretched out a finger and picked up a dot in the black water on the ground. The whole finger immediately turned black, but the next moment the finger disappeared out of thin air, and a new one grew out a few seconds later.

The scene before his eyes was beyond the puppeteer's comprehension. He widened his eyes, trying to figure out if this was an illusion, but it looked real no matter how he looked at it: "Aren't you a human?"

He raised the space bottle in his hand higher and shouted: "Even if you are not afraid, there are always your companions outside, right? It is impossible for all of them to have your ability! And those slaves will all die."

Glade listened to him quietly, and when he finished shouting, he only said one sentence: "It's none of my business!"

"What?" The puppeteer was stunned.

"You already know that I'm not human, so why should I care about the lives of those people? Just do it quickly, it will save me the effort of clearing out this village. Come on! Explode! I'm waiting for you." The seemingly young wizard showed a sinister smile, which even made a vicious man like the puppeteer shudder.

The puppet master was in a dilemma, holding the bottle in his hand awkwardly, wanting to cry but without tears. Was he really going to blow himself up to help this madman solve the problem

Just as he was considering whether to use some magic to attack Glade, he didn't expect to hear a whistling sound behind him. Taking advantage of his unpreparedness, a long leg with fighting spirit kicked through his shield and kicked him hard in the lower back. He was almost bent over when kicked out. The shield on his body disintegrated into magic in the air.

A flash of knife light appeared at his right wrist, and his right hand and the bottle were instantly separated from his arm.

His body hit the wall like a battering ram breaking through a door, making a loud bang and making close contact with the wooden wall.

A gray shadow flashed by, and the dangerous bottle had already fallen into Ji Yijun's hand. "Damn, that was a close call."

The puppeteer's face was covered in blood and he fainted immediately. His body slid down the wall as if paralyzed, leaving a streak of blood on the wall.

"Tsk tsk, Sister Kalanda, don't get kicked to death. We still need the antidote." Ji Yijun said, looking at the bottle in his hand.

"I know my limits. He's let Old Chen lie down for so long, and he himself won't be able to walk for the rest of his life. What's the point of keeping the thing below the waist?" Kalanda said word by word.

"Hiss..." Ji Yijun took a breath of cold air. Today he saw the true ruthless side of this former mercenary leader.

Kalanda took all the magic props off the puppeteer, tore off a piece of cloth from his clothes, and tied it around his broken wrist. Glade took out a ring of confinement from the storage space of the holy book and buckled it around the puppeteer's neck. Seeing his appearance, Ji Yijun was too lazy to carry him. He just buckled his collar and dragged him forward.

"To be honest, Glade, the way you looked just now and what you said, I believed it all." Ji Yijun said.

"How do you know I'm not telling the truth?" Glade looked at him with a smile.

Ji Yijun's face turned pale.

The three of them dragged the puppeteer to the stairs and met Mareno and his men walking upstairs.

"Caught? Is it dead or alive?" Mareno asked when he saw the puppeteer on the ground.

"Yes, it was him. He almost caused a big disturbance. He is still alive now, but if he is not obedient and provokes Kalanda, it will be hard to say." Ji Yijun said, "Have you caught the manager?"

"No!" Mareno was a little annoyed when he said this. "I don't know what happened, but Hall seemed to have discovered our movements in advance. He actually went down to the yard through a secret door and then escaped."

"Escape? Do you know which direction to go?" asked Kalanda.

"I see the footprints go along a path into the mountains. Should we chase them?" asked Mareno.

"Have Huang Zheng and the others caught up with us? If so, have them send some people to follow the footprints." Kalanda arranged, "We have a more important enemy to deal with. Several maids said that the butler, the man known as the 'black-haired devil', just arrived here yesterday and is now living in the house at the top of the hill. We must act quickly to prevent him from escaping as well."

Kalanda led everyone out of the house and saw Huang Zheng leading a platoon of soldiers to the door of the house. He sent a few people to guard Glade's magic circle, and the rest of the people were divided into three teams, moving alternately to the highest house.

Huang Zheng stood outside the door with a gun in one hand and a short magic wand in the other. He was very happy to see the puppet master was successfully captured. He then reported to Kalanda: "The passage from the village entrance to the mountain has been cleared. We took down sixteen guards without any losses and did not alert other people in the village. The magic squad and the second platoon are already in position outside the guard barracks at the foot of the mountain. Once the other side makes any unusual movements, they will know how terrible the magic squad is."

Kalanda weighed the greatsword in his hand and nodded, "Very good. Now we are going to reveal who the black-haired devil is."
