Being A Detective in The World of Film and Television

Chapter 1080: Looking for the blacksmith, goodbye old friend (3 more)

After nightfall, Luke went to meet with Frank and exchanged information.

Luke probably knows everything Frank knows.

What Luke knows, Frank may not know.

The hypnotized District Attorney Reyes confessed her mental journey, and Luke told Frank without reservation.

Frank was silent.

Luke didn't say anything either.

Should we take revenge? How should we take revenge? What counts as revenge? There are countless combinations of answers to these three questions.

There is no doubt that District Attorney Reyes is not a good person.

However, when she originally planned to arrest the three parties involved in the melee in the park, she never thought of harming ordinary civilians.

This situation does not match her expectations and will lead to her entering politics, which is completely wrong and is the last thing she wants to happen.

Unfortunately, she was so ambitious that she did have the idea of being greedy for success and making reckless advances.

Fearing that the three parties would become alert and cancel the deal, she took a risky approach and did not evacuate the civilians before the operation.

And as long as she evacuated the civilians in advance, whether it was the three-party alert or the evacuation to allow Frank's family to avoid it, the tragedy could have been avoided.

Thinking about it this way, it seems that she was the one who caused the death of Frank's family.

In fact, this matter cannot be judged so simply.

It is only natural for the police to catch thieves.

Putting civilians in danger in order to catch thieves is a problem that all police forces in the United States cannot avoid, the only difference is the degree of severity.

In a gunfight between police and gangsters, civilians may be accidentally injured at any time. So should American police simply not be equipped with guns

This is obviously impossible.

In this matter, District Attorney Reyes made serious mistakes, but his crime does not warrant the death penalty.

If the consequences are serious, then most of the serious criminals in the United States deserve to die more than her.

After waiting for a long time, Frank's expression changed, but he still couldn't make up his mind.

Luke knew that he had actually made a decision.

Frank is not a born criminal after all, he is a soldier who has done many dirty things for the national interest, but his bottom line has always been there.

The fact that he hasn't made a decision for so long means that he is not determined to kill District Attorney Reyes.

Luke finally spoke: "I think we can put the matter of District Attorney Reyes aside. I have a question. If you can solve it, then you don't have to worry about District Attorney Reyes anymore."

Frank was silent for a moment, then nodded: "You go ahead."

"Blacksmith!" Luke said the name of this key figure.

Frank's attention suddenly snapped to focus and he looked up at him.

Luke: "The real key in this matter is this blacksmith. He initiated the transaction, which is what caused everything to happen."

Frank: "You mean, find him?"

But what does this have to do with District Attorney Reyes? He was confused.

Luke nodded. "It is said that this blacksmith's supply is huge, at least one ton of banned drugs at a time. How can he smuggle such a large amount of drugs in?"

Frank frowned. "If it was smuggled, it would probably be from Mexico? He has close ties with the Mexican cartels."

Luke shook his head. "No, the Mexican cartels do have a lot of goods, but they mostly enter the United States in multiple batches, rarely in a one-time wholesale. They prefer to break up the goods and sell them to many small cooperative gangs to get higher profits. There is no need for them to gather the illegal drugs that have already entered in batches and then sell them all at once. It does them no good in doing so."

Frank nodded slightly.

The Mexican cartels may not have much else, but they definitely have plenty of manpower.

There are countless ordinary people in Mexico who are willing to be "mules" for money. They act as "mules" for Mexican cartels, bringing goods into the United States in small batches through various channels.

Doing so will not only disperse the risks, but also prevent the middle and senior levels from being involved in any accidents. At most, some thugs who escorted the vehicle will be caught.

Concentrating all the goods will only cause more accidents and losses for them.

Luke paused here before continuing, "Next, you need to stay calm. At least until we catch the blacksmith and confirm that it is him, you need to stay calm."

Frank: “Speak.”

Half an hour later, Luke reluctantly took out the medical kit and wrapped Frank's bloody hands. "Didn't I tell you that the situation is uncertain? You don't want to go find him by yourself, do you?"

Frank gasped, "He's mine!"

Luke said angrily: "Do you believe me? I will knock him out right now and throw him in front of you? Five of his ribs are broken and he is very emotional. Are you sure you are not going to get killed?"

Frank glared at him with bloodshot eyes: "I will stay calm until he gives me an answer."

Luke curled his lips and said noncommittally: "Let's go, I see you can't wait any longer, let's find out about this tonight."

Both he and Frank knew that the previous speculation was highly likely.

Unless the other party refuses to speak, the "blacksmith" will be dead tonight.

The reason why he wanted to go with Frank was, of course, to use basic hypnosis and mind communication to squeeze out the blacksmith's surplus value.

In consideration of his three times of saving Robert's life, Luke will hand over the blacksmith boss to Frank.

But Luke has secured the blacksmith's goods and channels.

These are all experience points.

Ray Skunov smiled and rubbed his son's head, watching him being coaxed by his wife to take a bath and go to bed.

He sat down on the sofa and pressed the remote control to switch the TV series to several news channels.

After a while, he stopped with a frown: "Frank is quiet?"

There was no expected murder in the news, so he could only turn off the TV and think quietly about the follow-up.

The sound of the TV disappeared and the whole room fell into silence.

Lei leaned back on the sofa, and suddenly his heart tightened: something was wrong. Where was the sound of his wife coaxing their son to sleep

Every night, the little guy would pester his wife to tell him stories and always ask questions. It always takes him ten or twenty minutes to fall asleep.

He was watching the news on TV just now, and he didn't pay attention to the constant voices in the room.

Now, the whole room was as quiet as a haunted house.

Apart from his own breathing and a little bit of faint wind outside the house, he could not hear anything else.

Lei reached under the side of the sofa and touched a pistol hidden there, and his eyes slowly scanned the room.

His eyes did not move quickly, but he tried his best to use his peripheral vision to look for possible danger approaching.

Snap!

With a noise, the door lock was opened.

The clanking of metal was the same sound most people's keys make when they enter a room.

But Lei knew that this was definitely not family.

Only his wife and he had the key, but both of them were in the room.

Just as he was about to pull out the gun in his hand, he heard a deep voice coming from the door: "Lei, long time no see."

Lei's hand paused, but a surprised expression appeared on his face: "Frank, is that you?"

He stood up and turned to the door and hallway. He put the pistol in the gap between the sofa and his right hand behind him as he turned around.

A burly figure walked in: "It's me."
