Selina: "... Can you have some shame? You look annoyed?"

Luke shrugged: "That's because I'm home."

Selena was speechless and could only go wash up first.

While eating breakfast, Luke gave a brief account of what had happened.

After hearing this, Selina's first words were: "You... don't want to help John "comfort" Gianna, do you?"

Luke looked at her in surprise. "How is that possible? She is the eldest daughter of Camorra and will soon become the head of Camorra. If she could not help me understand the Twelve Masterminds of the High Table, I would kill her first."

Selina knew him too well. As soon as she saw his expression, she knew he was serious. She couldn't help but scratch her head: "No way, she is so infatuated, I thought you would sympathize with her or something."

Luke took a sip of the latte in his hand: "Love, how many crimes have been committed in your name."

Selena is now a different person than before. In her spare time, she would read some literary classics, famous quotes, etc. to change her mind.

Hearing what he said, she frowned: "Are you saying that she doesn't really love John that much, or that it's not love at all?"

Luke shook his head: "Whether she loves John or not is different from how many bad things she has done. Besides, she didn't do those bad things because of John, and I am not John."

After a pause, he said, "Leaving her here is more out of consideration for profit. In the short term, one more or one less of the Twelve Masterminds of the High Table won't make much difference, but I can get a lot of intelligence from her. I don't believe that the Twelve Masterminds are so close to each other. Camorra should have enemies in the High Table, and there will definitely be more than just one. This is more valuable than killing Jaina alone."

Selina was a little confused: "But you just said she was a bad person."

Luke shrugged. "I know. But strictly speaking, most of the rich people in this country are bad guys. How many people have been ruined or committed suicide by those financiers on Wall Street? If I hated evil, I wouldn't have killed these guys one by one. Their names are all in the financial reports. I don't even need to check them."

Selina nodded unconsciously.

Wall Street financiers are all vampires. This is the basic perception of the lower-class people in the United States, just as cursing the president is one of their daily habits and it is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

Luke: "Look, if I hate evil, there are countless bad guys in this country, and I can't kill them all in my lifetime, so I can only make choices based on my personal judgment. And in the high table, the Camorra might become my best "inside ghost", so I will naturally not be the first to deal with it."

Selina thought for a moment, still a little confused: "But, the harm caused by Camorra is also very serious, right?"

Luke smiled: "I am not a machine, nor a god. Of course I have my own little thoughts. I can only say that if Jaina does something I cannot tolerate, even if she is my "ghost", I will kill her. Do you understand?"

Selina rolled her eyes and suddenly asked, "What if one day I did something you couldn't stand, would you kill me too?"

Luke looked at the woman as if she were an idiot. "First, you don't have the idea. Second, you don't have the conditions. Third, if you really do it, I will teach you the twelve-word mantra until you obey me."

Seeing his weird expression, Selina shuddered.

She was familiar with that look; it meant he was thinking something extremely bad.

For example, his expression was similar the last time he tortured Kilgrave with a basketball.

She decisively gave up this unpleasant topic, quickly finished her breakfast, and went to training.

Luke couldn't help but smile and shook his head.

This silly girl follows me every day, and I assume she can do bad things.

Don’t you think that all his learning of telepathic communication was in vain

His telepathic communication with Selina is not mind control.

Rather, it was the subtle influence brought about by their interactions that gave Selena an inherent impression of his bottom line.

Unless it was some kind of mind control or interference from a mysterious force, she would not be out of control at all.

But Nugget is not a freeloader. Whether it is direct mental control or physical control like Kilgrave, it is unlikely that he can manipulate Selina.

You still do bad things? Haha, you should just be a good chivalrous man in this life, and at most confiscate some of the dirty money to enrich your private coffers.

As for Selena's problems, he had already made up his mind.

In his previous life, he lived to his early thirties and spent many years as an internet troll in the era of information explosion. His own values had long been fixed and shaped through countless arguments.

Luke’s most basic requirement for himself is not to be a bad person.

Extending from this point, he naturally would not force himself to be a good person or a messenger of justice.

As the saying goes, one cannot live up to expectations, but just try to have a clear conscience.

He tries his best to do what he can, and doesn't dwell on what he can't do due to reality.

It is also for this reason that even though he has killed many bad guys and done a lot of good things, he is not proud of it.

I have never thought of myself as a savior who is high above and who must show love and justice to people all over the world.

He was just being himself, a normal, kind person.

In the morning, Luke and Selina went to work as usual, leaving an impression of "I'm still here" on their colleagues, and threw a pile of cupcakes that hadn't been made for several days at Connie's place again.

He also took over a large theft case from Dustin.

After leaving Dustin's office, I chatted with Joe for a few minutes. The topic was probably something like "Is Detective John still having a bad time lately?" This was essential.

Joe's answer was no surprise: "Yeah, he's a piece of shit now."

In response, Luke and Selina could only shrug their shoulders, saying they were powerless.

They went to have lunch early at noon, and then packed their food for Dustin and Elsa to take back. The two took the opportunity to chat with Elsa for a while.

With Gary collecting intelligence, Selina knows a lot about New York, and knows more about the inside story of some major events than Elsa.

However, the overall public security in New York, the office struggles within the NYPD, and the significance behind the promotions and transfers of important departments are not something that can be analyzed and summarized by intelligent programs.

Elsa now knows a lot about this.

She chose to sit in this position after discussing it with Dustin.

To a large extent, her intelligence capabilities have begun to turn internally rather than externally.

From her, Luke heard some pretty big news.

Chief District Attorney Samantha Reyes, who is interested in running for the next city council election, was suddenly exposed to negative news.

There is evidence that she violated regulations many times during her term, interfered with judicial justice, and even caused the deaths and injuries of innocent people.

Now, federal prosecutors are preparing to investigate her.
