Ye Wangchuan was stunned.
Qiao Nian put her hands in her pockets, with a cool expression, raised her head slightly, and looked into his eyes: "You put the ring on the middle finger of my right hand, isn't that a proposal?"
She asked directly and sharply.
It’s very much Qiao Nian’s style.
There is no intention of dragging things out.
Direct and passionate.
Like a ball of fire, it spreads across the prairie!
Ye Wangchuan was used to the upper class's code of conduct and had always been proud and reserved. For a moment he could not think of how to answer her.
“Forget it.” Seeing that he didn’t answer, Qiao Nian reached out and pulled down the brim of his hat. He straightened up casually, stood up and prepared to leave the rooftop.
When she was about to pass by the man, Ye Wangchuan grabbed her wrist, pulled her back, and held her in his arms, with his head slightly tilted.
The light reflected on his face, making his eyes look dark and colorful, and his pupils only reflected the girl's flamboyant and unruly face: "If I say yes, Nian Nian, will you agree?"
His voice was low and hoarse, and he was obviously moved.
Like a small brush brushing across the ear.
Qiao Nian narrowed her eyes. She originally wanted to make a joke, but she was touched by his eyes and the surging emotions in them.
Qiao Nian's pupils trembled slightly, and he was silent for a moment. The expression on his face gradually changed from frivolous to serious: "I didn't say no."
Ye Wangchuan hasn't reacted yet.
She broke free, stood back, glanced at him, and seeing that he didn't react, she said in a lighter voice: "Didn't I agree to this a long time ago?"
She didn't quite understand how ordinary couples in love were in love. For her, this was more difficult than researching the atomic bomb.
But she never promises others anything easily, and she will do what she says.
"I said I'd get married at 21." Qiao Nian's eyes were clear, and she was extremely serious, yet there was a casual tone in her voice: "Now I'm 20, and there's still one year left."
Ye Wangchuan's eyes seemed to reflect the light of the entire Beijing city. His thin lips curled up for some reason and he couldn't let go. "Okay, I'll wait for you for a year."
Qiao Nian looked at him again, wanting to say something but stopping himself.
She was about to say something, but before she could figure out how to say it, her cell phone rang.
"I'm going to take a call."
Qiao Nian glanced at the incoming call and walked aside to answer it.
*
In the suite on the top floor of the most prestigious Royal Hotel in Country M that is not available for reservation to the public.
Nie Qingru poured herself a glass of red wine, stood up, holding the glass and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window in the room, looking out at the bustling city scene below.
Holding the phone in one hand, he took a sip of red wine: "I thought you wouldn't answer my call."
A girl's annoying voice soon came from the other end of the phone.
"If I had known it was you calling, I might not have answered."
Nie Qingru's face darkened slightly, and she immediately lowered her eyes and shouted the girl's name in a stern voice: "Qiao Nian!"
Her anger seemed to fall on deaf ears, and in return she only received an increasingly impatient and even frivolous reply from the girl: "What do you want from me? Just tell me if you have something to say. If not, I'll hang up."
The knuckles of Nie Qingru's fingers grasping the wine glass were bulging, and the bulging parts were slightly white, which showed how greatly her emotions were fluctuating.
"I heard that it's your birthday today?" She tried to make her tone sound calm and indifferent: "Why didn't you tell me? I could have someone prepare a birthday present for you in advance."
Nie Qingru suppressed her nausea as she finished speaking, thinking that if she took the initiative to show goodwill, the other party would at least have some manners and know when to stop.
Who knows, there was silence for a few seconds on the other end of the phone, and then an almost mocking sneer was heard.
