Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 1004: clue

In the stinking cave, Ilov listened to his subordinates' reports without changing his expression.

"The information analysis team deduced the general course of events based on the current traces. First, the 549-1 Legion took the lead in using fighter planes to launch a large-scale surprise attack and bombing on the mountain."

"After reducing the enemy's numbers to a certain extent, it sent another 549-1 army to attack the 452 habitat. Judging from the specific situation of the peripheral injuries, both mages wanted to end the battle quickly to avoid attracting our attention."

"Judging from the body of 549-1, which was also cut, the force that cut the entire mountain was most likely from 452. Based on the analysis of the lines on the cross-section, the entire process took no more than one second."

"As for why 452 died en masse and turned into a puddle of mud, the analysis team speculated that this might be the origin of that powerful force. Seeing that victory was hopeless, they made great sacrifices in order to fight to the death with 549."

After listening to his subordinates' report, Ilov shook his head vigorously in obvious disapproval. "No, 452 has been fighting 549 for a long time. It's impossible for it not to know the other party's details. 549 hasn't even arrived yet. Why would it go all out against a bunch of 549-1s?"

"And according to past records, 452's strengths are all in the spiritual realm. Even if it has a killer weapon, it can't be this powerful on the physical level."

Ilov had many dealings with 452 Moth. Strictly speaking, the other party was not a powerful or terrifying abnormality. The reason why it had not been taken in by the IMF was simply because its ability to escape was extremely strong.

As a pure consciousness living in human consciousness, if one 452-1 escapes, it will not take long for it to gather another group of people and parasitize again.

"The conflict occurred when 452 and 549 came into contact. That cave is definitely the key. Send two more groups of people there. Even a small stone inside must be marked as evidence."

"yes!"

Seeing his subordinate turning around to leave, Ilov called him back, "How's the situation with the witnesses?"

"It will take time. There are so many of them, and most of them are not mentally stable. I guess they have PTSD because of being involved in the battle between 452 and 549. The medical team has not been able to get any valuable information from them yet."

"How long do we have to wait? Have you submitted the application for a controlled abnormality in the memory check? I'm in a hurry here, but why is there no response from the headquarters?"

"I've already applied for it, but the response from headquarters is the same as last time. It's not just your place that's in urgent need. Some places need this kind of controllable anomaly even more."

What else could Ilov say about this? He could only wave his hand and let him leave, and he stayed on the scene to continue directing the operations.

The bustling scene never stopped for a moment and continued until nightfall, when the bright overhead searchlights came on.

Ilov stood beside the foul-smelling lake and watched the huge water pumps working.

The lake water mixed with rotten meat was quickly collected into tanks, waiting to be transported away by plane.

In order to find out what was going on here, Ilov decided to pack the entire lake thoroughly.

He kept staring like this until three in the morning, and Ilov decided to take a nap as he would not have much time to rest for the next while.

Lying in the car and wrapped in his coat, Ilov, who had strong self-control, quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Everything seemed normal at first, and he quickly recovered in his sleep, but soon something went wrong and he began to dream.

"Where am I?" Ilov muttered to himself hesitantly in a daze.

He suddenly found himself in an extremely dark forest, and the gray fog made visibility extremely low.

After hesitating for a moment, Ilov raised his feet and walked forward. Below the forest was a layer of knee-deep sea water, and the biting temperature kept taking away the warmth from his body from the soles of his feet.

As he continued to move forward, frustration, despair, fear and other negative emotions began to occupy his consciousness. But he just couldn't stop.

Just when Ilov didn't know how long he had walked, he vaguely saw something in front of the bare branches.

He gritted his teeth and used his hands to push aside the branches in front of him. Finally, he could see clearly that it was a huge tree of flesh and blood.

At this moment, he felt the other party's power as powerful as the stars. In front of such power, he was nothing, and human beings were nothing.

The next second, negative emotions that almost became tangible came flooding in like a tidal wave. Just when he was about to be crushed by these emotions, Ilov was pushed awake by someone.

"Captain, there are new discoveries at the field hospital!" The brown-haired young man excitedly woke up his boss.

Ilov was stunned for a second, and when he recalled the scene in his dream, his pupils shrank to a minimum. "Where are the others sleeping? Did they report having nightmares?"

In this situation, the knowledgeable Ilov immediately realized that his dream was some kind of spiritual pollution and he must be on guard against it as soon as possible.

Seeing his boss so nervous, the young man did not dare to delay and quickly took him to the tent where the shift change staff were resting.

When Ilov came out of the tent, the extreme tension on his face turned into confusion. "Strange, other people who were sleeping didn't have this dream. Is this really just my nightmare?"

Ilov didn't dare to jump to conclusion about this. He planned to leave this place and try it next time he went to bed.

"Why did you wake me up?" Ilov looked at his watch and found that it was only 5 o'clock in the morning and he had only slept for two hours.

"Captain, there are new discoveries at the field hospital, and he wants you to go over there."

"Walk!"

We took a bus to a field hospital in the rear area. All the wards were covered with thick canvas, and some mentally ill passengers were treated and interrogated here.

Led by a military doctor, Ilov came to a ward where a freckled girl was curled up on the bed.

Her eyes were sunken, her hair was messy, and she looked very haggard. She didn't look as cheerful as before at all, and there was evasiveness in her eyes.

"Her name is Olivia. She is a student of the Art Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She was involved in this incident because of traveling." The military doctor introduced the patient's information.

"Let's get to the point. What clues does this student have?"

The military doctor didn't say anything, but took out a pile of scattered Lego bricks from his drawer and put them in front of her.

Facing Olivia who was shrinking back in fear, the military doctor said in a very gentle tone in Greek: "Olivia, επαναλβετεπριν."
