Chapter 684: White ball

Charles looked at the contents of the envelope for a long time, and finally he folded the letter and put it back into his bandaged hand.

"I know the situation down there is not good, but the more it is, the more careful we have to be. If anything goes wrong with you, our exploration will be even more difficult. You are the first mate of the Narwhal."

Bandage quietly put the letter away and said, "Captain, do you think we can bring back the darkness?"

"Of course we will! There will be no problem!! We have cooperated with the Foundation. They have a way to capture darkness. Now we just need to find the border, and we can definitely bring the darkness back!!"

Charles' words were firm and decisive. As a captain, he must be determined and have clear goals. If even he hesitated, the morale of the entire ship would be destroyed.

After patting the bandaged shoulder with his hand, Charles turned around and was about to walk out, but at this moment, a shrill whistle suddenly sounded all around.

Charles stopped and immediately jumped towards the window. The whistle was in the wrong place! This was not the whistle of the Narwhal!

When he was hanging upside down at the bottom of the Narwhal, Charles immediately saw a white-painted exploration ship approaching to his right. Judging from the markings on the airbag, it was indeed the exploration ship from before.

It never hurts to be too vigilant in a place like this. He took two quick steps on the hull and quickly came to the cockpit.

Charles saw the second mate holding a telescope and looking over there. "Captain, judging from the flag signals those guys are using, they seem to want to ask us for help."

"What help? It's not a big problem. Let them handle it on their own."

Charles didn't want to come into contact with ships of unknown origin in such a place. God knows if these things are controlled by some strange creatures.

"Well, it seems to be a problem with the fresh water. It seems that their fresh water is no longer drinkable. The flag language is not clear. If we really want to understand what they are experiencing, we have to talk to them face to face."

Looking at the ship approaching in the distance, Charles thought for a while, and finally reached out to take out the diary that could predict the future, and quickly turned to the latest page.

After seeing that there was no danger in the content, Charles slowly led the Narwhal towards it.

This relic can come in handy at a critical moment, especially in this situation. "It's not a big deal. They are ordinary explorers. Just drive over and take a look."

Looking at Charles' diary, Nico's face was filled with envy. "Captain, you have such a good relic, why didn't you use it earlier?"

"Because of the uncertainty, I don't know whether this diary's ability is to predict the future or to create the future. And its side effects have never been explored, so I have no idea how to use it."

Soon the explorer, which was slightly larger than the Narwhal, approached, and Charles saw the crew on it.

Unexpectedly, there were two tall Haiks standing on the deck. Looking at their pale lips, it was indeed a sign of dehydration.

"What's wrong with your water tank? What happened?" Charles asked them loudly.

The Haik tribe's resounding reply echoed in the air in the distance. "We found a round white ball with a hole in it!! After we drove the ship in, the fresh water was polluted! Captain! We don't need a lot of fresh water, just enough to sustain us until we get back!"

A white ball with a hole in it? Charles glanced over the mark on the map in his mind and saw no record of it.

He thought for a moment and said something to Dipper. Soon the sailors of the Narwhal came to the deck carrying buckets of fresh water.

After the fresh water barrel was opened, the hungry and thirsty Haik people did not drink it first, but shouted something into the cabin.

After a while, two lizard-like monsters with reverse joints crawled out from inside, stuck their trumpet-shaped mouthparts into the water and began to drink from it in big gulps.

"Why did these big guys come out to explore and bring this thing with them?" Dipper said, scratching the scales on his neck.

Charles looked at the evil body of the messenger and said, "This thing should be useful, but I don't know what effect it will have. Don't think too much. Norden, throw a few more buckets of fresh water over, and we'll leave."

"Click, click, click" Norden opened his ferocious mouth and knocked his white teeth against each other, then started moving again.

After a brief conversation with them, the Narwhal began to move, and when the ship gradually disappeared into the darkness, to be honest, Charles felt a little surprised. It had been a long time since he had such a non-dangerous contact.

Charles returned to the cockpit, picked up the map, and compared it with the position of the white ball they had mentioned before. He found that there was no so-called white ball position in their words.

"Did the Foundation forget to mark it, or did this white ball float over later?"

After thinking for a moment, Charles said to Dipper who was steering the ship, "Drive over and take a look from a distance. If there is nothing special, just treat it as a new coordinate."

When in mid-air, without any reference points, the more coordinates you have, the less likely you are to get lost.

Time passed quickly, and after a few days, Charles finally saw what the so-called white ball was.

It looked like a skull, but not really. After all, no skull could emit the gentle moonlight.

Looking at the ping-pong-sized ball in the distance, Bandage took a ruler to measure it and reported to Charles that the object was about the size of an island.

Charles took out a pen and a ruler, and after comparing them, he drew a dot on the map to mark the location of the object. "Let's go."

"Mr. Charles, aren't we going up?" Lily, who was standing on his shoulder, asked puzzledly.

"What are you going up there for? This is not an exploration of the island. Even if we want to capture it and use it as a transit point, there are other explorers who can do that. Don't just stand there, keep going. The Foundation's exploration boundary is almost here. Our mission is to find the boundary to the right of the darkness as soon as possible."

Under everyone's gaze, the white ball gradually disappeared into the darkness. Charles thought about it.

He took out his diary and wanted to see what the white sphere was. To his surprise, there was nothing written in the diary.

It seems that this relic has certain limitations.

However, something that the diary could not detect must be of great significance. This anomaly still made Charles a little nervous, but after being vigilant for many days and finding that there was no danger, he finally relaxed.
