Chapter 883: dialogue

After hearing what Nico said, Dipper began to waver. Although he had already tested it and that person should be his captain, what if

It won't be like this if you try to test the other party, but you will feel more at ease. There is no reason not to do something like this with no disadvantages but only advantages.

"But what chance do we have? We can't just run over and do it. It won't be good whether it's real or fake." Dipper asked the second mate in front of him.

As soon as he finished speaking, there were light footsteps outside the door. Nico put his hand to his mouth, made a hushing gesture, and tiptoed towards the window next to him.

Under their hidden gaze, they saw Lily walking along the corridor towards the first floor lobby in a panic.

Seeing the girl disappear at the end of the corridor, Nico smiled charmingly, "Look, this is our chance. With her here, things will be much easier for us."

Lily, wearing fluffy slippers, slowly walked down the spiral staircase to the first floor. The place that was bustling before seemed very deserted because of the departure of people. Even the bright lighting did not make it much better.

Lily folded her hands over her chest and looked around in confusion, "Where does Mr. Charles sleep at night?"

The overall building is not big and looks like a Western-style house. After a simple inspection of several rooms on the first floor, she found that there was no place to sleep on the first floor. This house is so small but no one is there, which makes her very troubled.

"Mr. Charles? Are you there, Shanshan?" Lily's voice echoed in the living room, but still no one responded.

"Could it be that Charles and Winky live somewhere else in the island forest?" Lily thought of this as she walked through the deserted hall to the door of the mahogany room.

The white palm grasped the door handle and turned it gently, and the door opened silently. There were two street lamps outside the house, but the lights were not bright and could only illuminate things within five meters of the door. As for the area five meters away, there was a forest that merged into the darkness.

Lily was keenly aware that something was watching her in the forest. She knew what they were. They were Mr. Charles' children. Perhaps they knew where he had gone.

The girl bit her lips gently with her white teeth and asked into the darkness in front of her: "Um, do you know where Mr. Charles went?"

At first, the thing in the darkness did not respond, but after a few seconds, a cracked smiley face mask suddenly floated in the darkness. The dirty mask did not have any light source, but Lily could see it clearly.

Lily didn't care what the mask was. She asked again, "Do you know where Mr. Charles went?"

The mask swayed slowly in the air and then began to float towards the depths of the forest.

"I really have something to do with Mr. Charles. I don't have time to mess around with you guys." After Lily finished speaking, she stepped on the stairs and followed the mask step by step.

Lily wasn't really afraid of these kids, she had used them for training when she was at the top of the world.

There was nothing unusual at first, but just when Lily walked out of the illumination range of the street lamp, the things in the darkness suddenly moved, they intertwined with each other and covered Lily madly.

Lily felt that her body and will were being torn apart at the same time, and she felt really uncomfortable.

The light pierced through the darkness, revealing the true appearance of those things. In an instant, Lily's pupils shrank to an extremely small size. Those children had changed. They looked very strange before, but now they became even more weird.

The skin and flesh that should have been normal showed signs of decay and wrinkles, the limbs that were at least barely normal showed signs of hyperplasia and deformity, and some children even had large and small pus-filled boils on their backs that were oozing pus.

Lily was frightened by this scene, but those children had no intention of stopping. Their eyes were filled with evil thoughts and madness. Even though their bodies were pierced by the light, it still couldn't stop them from wanting to tear Lily apart.

"Cough cough" With two clear coughs, the surroundings of Lily suddenly became quiet. When she came to her senses, she found that the children had disappeared without a trace, and the twisted forest was empty.

"Lily, why do you want to go out so late at night? Aren't you sleepy?" As a tired voice sounded behind Lily, she quickly turned around and found that the captain she was looking for was standing at the door.

As if frightened, Lily quickly turned around and threw herself into the other's arms, saying in panic: "Mr. Charles, they... they were not like this before, what happened to them?"

Charles hugged Shanshan and staggered towards the sofa. "It's okay, don't worry. They are just... adapting to the new environment. Don't worry about them. They won't die that easily."

When they came to the brown leather sofa, Charles leaned heavily on it, and then he spoke with a hint of helplessness, "Hey, actually I didn't want to keep them, but Shanshan insisted on putting them here, saying that it would at least be more lively this way."

"My daughter is grown up now. I can only let her do some minor things that don't affect anything. Oh, you haven't told me yet, why are you not sleeping at night?"

She did not answer this question immediately. Instead, she closed her eyes and felt the other man's heartbeat in her arms. She liked this feeling and she wanted to do nothing and keep going like this forever.

Charles didn't bother her. He gently stroked her hair and smelled her green apple-like scent.

After a long moment, Lily straightened up and looked into Charles' eyes. "Mr. Charles, do you still remember our original agreement?"

"Remember, I haven't forgotten, but Lily, I am different from who I was before, and you are also different from who you were before. You should live the life you longed for, a quiet and happy life."

Hearing Charles say this, Lily's mouth pursed, looking very unwilling. "Big liar! You don't keep your word! How could you do this!"

Charles smiled silently. "I don't want to quibble. I have a lot of problems, but breaking my promise is the least of them."

Seeing that the other party was serious, Lily couldn't help but plead, "Mr. Charles, please don't let me leave, okay? I don't want anything, I just want to stay by your side."
