Yue'er, who was walking forward in a daze, suddenly heard her mother's voice. She felt her mind clear and she came to her senses.
"Mother?" She turned her head, her expression somewhat dazed.
Fengjiu flashed by almost instantly, and in the blink of an eye she was beside her and held her in her arms. After she felt her being hugged by her, she exhaled a breath, and her heart finally settled down.
"You scared me to death!" She said, holding her in one hand and touching her face with the other: "How are you? Are you okay?"
"Mother, what happened to Yue'er just now?" The little girl asked in confusion. She looked towards the pool and blinked in confusion.
Fengjiu looked towards the pool. The pool was as calm as before, with only ripples when the breeze blew past. The pool was located next to the rockery, mainly for viewing. The water in the pool was not deep, and it could almost be said that nothing could be hidden in it. However, the water was not deep, but it was more than enough to drown a two or three-year-old child.
She looked away from the pool and scanned the surroundings. She did not answer Yue'er's question, but asked, "Did Yue'er fall down at this rockery that day?"
"Yeah, over there." She pointed with her little hand to the place where she fell.
Seeing this, Fengjiu took her little hand and walked towards the place she pointed. As she got closer, the bell on her waist made a subtle sound.
"Huh? Mom, the bell is ringing!" Yue'er looked at the small pendant around her waist curiously.
Fengjiu looked down. This was a gift from her sister Wanyan Qianhua. The bell would make a sound only if the evil spirits were near. And now...
She stopped and swept her spiritual sense towards the ground at the rockery, only to see that something seemed to be moving quietly deeper underground. She immediately signaled Yue'er to step back, and she gathered spiritual energy with her fingers and attacked the underground.
"call out!"
"Bang!"
There was a sharp sound of airflow, and the ground exploded with a bang. Mud and sand splashed up, and at the same time, something seemed to fly out from under the ground and escape into the distance almost without stopping.
"Want to escape?"
Fengjiu snorted coldly, and with a move of her hand, a talisman flew out and wrapped the thing. With a hissing sound, the thing fell from mid-air to the ground. Faintly, a sharp and shrill sound could be heard.
The commotion here attracted Xuanyuan Moze and the others. They turned back quickly before they had gone far, just in time to see Fengjiu throwing out the talisman.
"What happened?" Xuanyuan Moze asked and came to their side.
"That thing has been pulled out." Fengjiu said, her eyes fixed on the front.
Seeing this, Du Fan quickly stepped forward and picked up the thing wrapped in the talisman. After a closer look, he found it was a black bead. So, he said to Feng Jiu and the others, "Master, Lord Yan, it is a spirit bead, but this spirit bead is attached to a ghost."
"Give it to me! I'll refine it with the Heavenly Fire later." Feng Jiu said as she took the inconspicuous bead from Du Fan. As soon as she got the bead in her hand, she could smell a hint of blood on it.
She thought for a while and said, "There shouldn't be ghosts in the mansion. Moreover, we have lived here for so long. If there were ghosts, we would know about them. So, it must be the blood from Yue Er's fall that day that dripped onto the bead, awakening the ghost that was almost dissipated."
