"You killed him?" One of the men, who was in his twenties, looked at the little boy with a cold face and a wary look in astonishment, with disbelief in his eyes.
This kid looks no more than ten years old? How could he kill the one-eyed dragon
Haoer stared at the three people in front of him, with a dark light in his eyes. Two of the three were cultivators in the middle stage of foundation building, and the middle-aged man was a golden elixir cultivator.
He pondered for a moment, and under the inquiring and surprised gazes of the three men, he glanced at the badges on their mercenary uniforms and asked, "Are you mercenaries?"
The middle-aged man put away his surprise. He looked at these people, his eyes swept over Seventeen who was wearing a guard uniform, and then looked at the two small figures behind him. He frowned, and finally set his eyes on the ten-year-old boy and said, "As you can see, we are indeed mercenaries."
Hearing this, Haoer pointed the sword in his hand at the dead one-eyed man and said coldly: "I killed this man. All the valuables on him are given to you as my reward for hiring you to protect us out of the forest."
Hearing this, the middle-aged man raised his eyebrows and stared at the little boy, wondering what kind of family raised this child? At such a young age, he had such a calm and composed spirit, and could handle things so calmly.
"You are so shameless, kid. It was clearly our siege that seriously injured this man. Otherwise, how could you have killed him with your strength!" A man next to him snorted coldly, thinking that the property on this man should have belonged to their mercenary team.
Hao'er's eyes fell on the man and he said, "He died under my sword."
The young man became annoyed when he heard this and was about to speak when the middle-aged man raised his hand to stop him.
"Even if what you said is true, and you killed this man, the property belongs to you. But, we could have killed you, and the property would naturally be ours. There would be no need for us to escort you out of the forest, don't you think?" The middle-aged man had a smile on his face and stared at Hao'er with an ambiguous look.
Haoer looked at the middle-aged man and said calmly, "A mercenary team certified by the Mercenary Guild would not normally choose to kill people and rob. Moreover, you are not losing out by protecting our children and getting a large sum of money from this man."
Hearing this, the middle-aged man smiled and said, "It can be seen that you are not an ordinary child. Okay! I will take the lead and accept your task."
"Deputy Captain!" A young man next to him shouted with some disapproval.
"It doesn't matter. We are going back anyway. Besides, they only have a few children. Let's take them along!" said the middle-aged man. Then he gestured, "Go and take everything from the one-eyed dragon."
"Yes." The two men responded and stepped forward, taking off everything on the other person, then stood beside him.
"Come where you want to go!" said the middle-aged man, turning around and walking back.
Behind them, Hao'er and his companions followed from a distance. Mu Chen lowered his voice and asked, "Brother, can we trust these people?"
Haoer walked forward and said, "The badges on their chests indicate that they are a verified regular mercenary team. These mercenaries are not desperate criminals. Some of them have families and children. So they usually don't have other thoughts if they take us children with them and get paid. But even so, we have to be careful."
