The "Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars" was written into a book in ancient times, but with the development of the times, corresponding changes were made, replacing the old filial piety stories with new ones.
In the "Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars" submitted by Xiangzhou, there is such a story. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a man named Guo Ju who supported his mother after the family was divided. Later, he gave birth to a son. Because the elderly love their grandchildren, they will give their food to their grandchildren. Guo Ju saw that his family was already in poverty. If his mother gave her food to her son, she might starve to death. So Guo Ju prepared to bury his newborn son, but when digging a pit, he dug up a jar of gold, so his son was saved.
The Shengyuan Continent highly praises this story and believes that Guo Ju is the most filial son.
Fang Yun frowned when he saw this.
After thinking for a long time, Fang Yun removed this story, then recalled the books he had read over the years, replaced it with another real event and turned it into a new poem.
Therefore, the new "Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars" has one less story about burying a child to serve the mother, and one more new story.
There is nothing special about the new story. It tells the story of a young man in Shu who, after getting married, found it difficult to support both his mother and wife at the same time. So he gave most of the food to his mother and wife and went hungry himself. Then he worked hard, gained recognition from the workshop owner, received funding for studies, and finally became a scholar, allowing his family to live a good life.
After replacing the one who buried his son and served his mother, Fang Yun thought about it and decided to find a reason for doing this, otherwise he would be openly making an enemy of the human race.
After thinking for a while, Fang Yun issued a governor's order to prohibit the two states from promoting the so-called filial piety of burying the son to serve the mother in any form, and judged that this story was against filial piety, because if Guo Ju's son really died, Guo's mother would be sad, and thus died prematurely due to depression. Guo Ju's behavior was equivalent to asking his mother to kill her grandson, which was against human ethics and should not be promoted.
After dealing with government affairs, Fang Yun continued to read, while the Marshal's Office, the Ministry of War and the Ministry of Rites were preparing for tomorrow's military review. By then, whether it was the Queen Mother or the King, all the civil and military officials would go to see him off.
In the early morning of August, there is a cool breeze, and the morning sun is less hot than in summer and more refreshing than in autumn.
Early in the morning, a large amount of food and fodder was transported to Quan Garden, and Fang Yun put them into his own seashells.
Fang Yun first went to the east of the city to join up with the barbarian private soldiers stationed near the capital.
Fang Yun's barbarian private soldiers are divided into three groups. The private soldiers in the capital are mainly composed of the old, the young, the sick and the disabled. The private soldiers in Ning'an are to intimidate local officials. The most elite private soldiers follow Fang Yun all the time. They have been in Baling City recently and are now heading to Ning'an.
Most of the thousands of private soldiers in the ancient land of Shihan were stationed in the suburbs of the capital, mostly old and young barbarians, and only a thousand of them could travel this time.
These barbarian private soldiers are well-equipped, and their vital parts are protected by extremely expensive equipment. Their spirit is far better than when they were in the ancient land of Shihan.
Seeing Fang Yun, all the barbarians knelt down and kowtowed. They witnessed with their own eyes how Fang Yun became the master of the Ten Colds, and they were full of admiration for Fang Yun.
Fang Yun turned over and jumped onto the dragon horse. He kicked the horse's belly and went around the outside of the capital to the northern suburbs. The barbarians were either riding on dragon horses or running after them.
An army of a thousand men ran with the momentum of ten thousand, with dust rising up behind them and a fierce and aggressive look on their faces.
The soldiers on the city wall of the capital saw this scene and saluted silently.
The story of Fang Yun saving the old man from being beaten by soldiers had already spread throughout the army, and the entire army praised him.
Fang Yun led his troops forward, and when they were about to enter the official road north of the city, they saw a convoy marching ahead.
A luxurious carriage pulled by a dragon horse was in the middle, with demon iron cavalrymen on both sides, front and back. There was also a horse barbarian marshal and four horse barbarian generals guarding the chariot.
The upper body of the Horse Barbarians is human-like, but their head and waist are like horses. They are famous for their good running skills.
When the horse barbarian saw Fang Yun, he was furious and yelled, "Left Prime Minister's convoy, everyone get out of the way!"
"How dare you!" Fang Yun shouted softly, and an invisible force condensed. The vitality between heaven and earth smashed towards Ma Manhou like a sledgehammer.
Fang Yun was already a top university scholar. Even if he directly controlled the vitality of heaven and earth, he could still severely damage the mere Ma Manhou.
The human race near Ma Manhou were horrified. They never thought that Fang Yun would attack as he said and was much more domineering than before.
At this time, an old voice came from the luxury car.
"Why would Fang Xusheng bother with private soldiers?"
An invisible force surged, dissolving the vital energy of heaven and earth that was rushing towards Ma Manhou.
Ma Manhou smiled coldly and said nothing more.
The rest of the human race's demon cavalry all stopped and saluted Fang Yun on horseback.
Fang Yun slowed down, holding the reins and moving forward slowly.
The sound of horse hooves hitting the ground is crisp.
"It is said that the prime minister is a seventh-rank official. This private soldier offended the virtual saint, but you did not punish him. It seems that he is a second-rank official and can join the cabinet!" Fang Yun said.
The curtains were opened, revealing Liu Shan's smiling face.
"Fang Xusheng is wrong. Ma Hou is wholeheartedly trying to protect me. He would do the same no matter who he is. After all, it is you who are leading thousands of barbarians here. Even I have to be careful." Liu Shan had a smiling face, which was far from the left prime minister in the court. He looked more like a kind old man.
"It seems that Prime Minister Liu has done too many bad things, so we must be careful and vigilant at all times." Fang Yun said.
Liu Shan smiled and said, "After all, I was attacked before, and I was able to escape thanks to the power of the Sect Saint. If Fang Xu Saint doesn't mind, we can go to the Grand Parade Ground together."
Fang Yun snorted coldly, merged into the official road and continued to move forward, while Liu Shan's convoy also moved forward.
Fang Yun was almost killed by the Demon King, and Liu Shan took the opportunity to seize power. Righteous men from various countries gathered together to kill Liu Shan, but Liu Shan revealed his identity as a Taoist priest and used the power of the patriarch to capture everyone. Later, Fang Yun returned and released those people.
Liu Shan leaned against the car window, looking into the distance with an indifferent expression, and said slowly: "Fang Xusheng, the barbarians are invading on a large scale. Before long, Ning'an, Yuyang Pass and the capital will be breached one after another. Retreating to the Yangtze River is the right way. If you insist on resisting, you will win a good reputation, but it will be a pity for the millions of Jingguo soldiers. This Jingguo is crumbling. I think you'd better find another wise master and embark on the holy path as soon as possible. For you, this Jingguo is a burden."
"That's not what Prime Minister Liu said in the court," Fang Yun said.
Liu Shan smiled and said, "How can high-sounding words be compared with what one says from the heart? Fang Xusheng..."
The smile on Liu Shan's face suddenly disappeared, replaced by a serious expression. He said, "The way of the patriarch is vast and upright, and it is unrivaled in the world. Thanks to the heavenly gift of Wenqu, there is hope for the second patriarch. When the era of the emperors begins, the human race will surely see the prosperity of a hundred schools of thought contending again, and the patriarch will surely be like the reincarnation of Confucius, suppressing the myriad worlds and allowing the human race to regain a thousand years of peace."
"I really didn't know that Prime Minister Liu was so good at bragging before." Fang Yun said with a smile.
Liu Shan's face darkened, and he said, "Saint Fang Xu, please don't take my kindness for granted. The rest of the saints of the human race are either very old, or traveling around the world, or not interested in achievements, or just trying to protect themselves, or... barely lingering on! Only my master is determined to make progress, and his pen points to the second saint. He should be the leader of the revival, far better than Dong Zhongshu! If you abandon darkness and join the light, and become my master's disciple, then if you want Jing Kingdom, Jing Kingdom will be yours, and if you want Qing Kingdom, Qing Kingdom will also be yours. Soon, you will be able to inherit my master's legacy, sit in the Temple of Saints, be revered by all the people, and your holy name will live forever!"
