Preliminary summary: Newton and his party, Fitz and James arrived at Barton in advance, while Benjamin and Matthew were still in Newton. James brought back the news that Benjamin encountered the werewolf tribe, and Zach couldn't help him.
"No steak." The waitress chewing gum looked at Benjamin with a pen and paper.
"Ribs." Benjamin continued, looking at the dirty menu.
"No." The waitress answered with the sound of chewing. She raised her hand and fiddled with the hoop earrings that were about to be dragged to her shoulders.
"Fish, do you have any fish here?" Benjamin threw away the menu, leaned back on his chair, and stared at the waiter.
"No." The waiter chewed a little slower, twitched the corners of his mouth, and answered.
"What do you have?" Benjamin was a little impatient.
"French fries, bacon burgers." The waitress looked around, and there seemed to be these two things on every table.
Benjamin twitched his lips and said, "That's it."
"Two servings." The waitress started to write something on the order in her hand, and glanced at the young man, Matthew the wolf, who had been looking around since he came in.
"Three..." Benjamin looked at the other tables and estimated the weight, "four servings."
"There are four of us." The waitress looked at the door of their restaurant, obviously thinking that someone else would come.
"Just two." Benjamin waved his hand impatiently.
The waitress raised her eyebrows and curled her lips, "We don't provide takeout..."
"I'm hungry." Benjamin frowned, staring at the careless waitress, "I want my food. Go get my food."
The white chewing gum drew a line in the waiter's mouth. The guy tilted his mouth and rolled his eyes, "Drink?" He just didn't satisfy Benjamin.
"No need." Benjamin moved his body. His face was filled with impatience.
"Juice is free." The waitress twisted her waist and changed her position. "We don't serve alcohol at lunch, so the juice is free. If you don't choose, the price will not be less."
"That's whatever." Benjamin waved his hand.
"Four cups or two cups?" The waitress didn't seem to wink at all. "Drinks in our store are free per person. There are only two of you, but you ordered four..."
Benjamin turned his head and looked directly at the waitress.
The waitress rolled her eyes and said, "Two drinks." Finally she left.
Benjamin stared at this woman, then stood at another table, flipped through the order that Benjamin had just written down, and started asking the new table's customers for their orders.
Benjamin pursed his lips and took a deep breath. The goal is to calm yourself down. But it seemed that it had no effect at all. Benjamin turned away and stared at the empty table in front of him in a daze.
"Will they follow?" Matthew suddenly spoke, lying on the unclean table and asking in a low voice.
"Yes." Benjamin answered briefly.
"They have been chasing from the Central District to the North District. They won't lose them."
This is not the city of Barton, but Newton. Newton's central district goes eastward to Barton's south district; Newton's north district goes south. It is the west side of Barton; as for Route 27, it leaves the south side of Barton. Enter Newton's South End. The idea that Patton was separated from Newton's belly is not just talk.
"No." Benjamin frowned. Alpha didn't like being questioned, "I left traces, and their trackers can't ignore them."
"Then they won't catch up with us soon?" Matthew's tone was full of worry, and his body was trembling a little.
"No." Benjamin glanced at Matthew. "I'm very cautious. The traces I leave don't lead directly to us. They will take detours. We still have time."
'They' keeps popping up in this conversation, 'they' is, um. The wolf pack, the werewolf tribe, a fully functional werewolf tribe, including tracking, reconnaissance, hunting, backup... Of course, there is also the leader Alpha, a whole tribe.
Oh, there is also 'we' in this conversation. 'We' are, well, Alpha Benjamin and Matthew the wolf cub, two.
"Then, then..." Matthew was still nervous, "Can you remind us of our plan again, I, I'm a little nervous..."
Benjamin frowned, looked away, and twitched the corners of his mouth, "We will meet Sibella's contact, notify the hunters in Barton to prepare, then delay here for a while, enter the west area of Barton, and go home."
"So it should be very simple and easy..." Matthew confirmed.
"It's very simple." Benjamin tugged at the corner of his mouth, glanced at the waitress who was still writing on other tables again, and patted the table impatiently, "Can you hurry up! I told you I'm hungry!"
The waitress gave Benjamin a distant look.
"Then, that contact person of Si Bella..." Maybe he was really too nervous. Matthew needed to confirm with his Alpha a few more times about 'our' upcoming actions.
"It's not our trouble." Benjamin waved his hands impatiently, "Let's wait." There was disgust on Benjamin's face, "Waiting for 'someone' to bring him to us."
"What if, what if 'they'..." the new 'they', "didn't arrive?"
Benjamin stopped talking. He tapped his fingers on the table and glanced aimlessly around this ordinary restaurant, waiting for the food.
Matthew hesitated to speak for a long time, but finally stopped.
It seemed a bit early for lunch, but Benjamin had already noticed that most of the people coming to dine were wearing work clothes and seemed to be workers at a factory in Newton North.
Newton's North End is not a prosperous place. It is a bit like Barton's Paisley. It can't be called lonely, but it can be said to be industrialized.
Geographically, it is adjacent to the Paisine River and the Charles River in the north and south respectively. The factories of the companies were built here, so like the Hermann Factory in Paisin, many people gathered here to live. But obviously the people here have a much greater sense of belonging to the Hermann Factory than the Paisying residents in Barton, and the overall situation is much calmer.
It was lunch break time in which factory, and Benjamin noticed that many people just left a tip after eating. Apparently the meal expenses had been covered by the factory. No wonder this restaurant only serves bacon burgers and French fries. People come here to eat anyway, so do they need any tricks
Having said that, if this is all, do we need a waiter
Benjamin frowned, became impatient again, and slapped the table, "Can you slow down a little bit more!"
The waitress opened and closed her chin, took out the chewing gum in her mouth with two fingers, glanced at Benjamin, and finally entered the kitchen.
Benjamin shook his head, this trip to Newton was really terrible. Yesterday I finally got rid of Fitz and the nosy James, and now I have no more burdens. I can finish it all today. Benjamin is going home. (..)
