Yang Qi couldn't give up Feng Yan, but this kind of round-robin competition couldn't be won by just one cultivator. After all, if the difference in strength was not too big, even he couldn't defeat five people in a row. But if the Phoenix Clan lost this competition, wouldn't it mean that Feng Wu and others would oppose him and Feng Yan being together? This result was also unacceptable to Yang Qi.
"yes!"
Feng Xie and the others said with a bit of helplessness that the Phoenix Clan had prepared for this competition for quite a while, but before the competition even started, the Phoenix Clan was doomed to lose. As contestants, Feng Xie and the others naturally felt bad.
If the Phoenix Clan had about 40% chance of winning before, now it is less than 10%. Now that the date of the competition is approaching, they can no longer change anything.
Feng Wu's gaze swept through Feng Xie's heart and he sighed slightly in his heart, if Bai Wei of the White Tiger Clan could break through to the Three-Star Martial Emperor, perhaps they would still have the strength to fight, but now, the Phoenix Clan has no chance of winning.
"As for the second matter, it is about the order of the competition. After our discussion, it is tentatively decided that Bai Wei, Feng Hongbo, Feng Xie, Feng Mei, and Yang Qi will compete in this order." Feng Wu looked at everyone and continued, "If you have any questions, please ask them."
Although the order of the Phoenix Clan's competition was not completely from weak to strong, only the order of Bai Wei and Feng Hongbo was changed. It was obvious that they intended to go the route of attrition in order to avoid losing too badly.
Feng Xie and the others looked at each other, then shook their heads slightly. The Phoenix Clan was destined to be no match for the opponent, so they had to consume more of the opponent and try not to lose too badly. This was the only way to fight.
Seeing that no one raised any questions, Feng Wu immediately said, "Since no one has any questions, let's arrange it this way. While there is still some time, do your best to improve your strength."
There is still more than a month left before the competition begins. Just a month is very time-consuming, not to mention for the Martial Emperor realm, even for the Martial King realm. It is simply impossible for a Martial Emperor realm practitioner to make any improvement in more than a month.
"By the way, Yang Qi stay first." Feng Wu looked at Yang Qi and said.
Yang Qi was stunned for a moment, then nodded. He knew very well that Feng Wu probably kept him because of an agreement between the two parties. After all, if the Phoenix Clan had no hope of winning, then what was the meaning of his agreement with Feng Wu
Hearing Feng Wu's words, Feng Xie and the others were slightly stunned. However, as the evil martial emperors in the Phoenix Clan, they knew very well that Yang Qi was not a cultivator of the Phoenix bloodline, but was only temporarily recognized by the Phoenix Clan. Yang Qi agreed to represent the Phoenix Clan in the competition, and there must be a deal between the two parties that they were not aware of.
However, this was a matter for the Phoenix Clan's top leaders, so Feng Xie and the others naturally had no right to know. They did not stay any longer and left the meeting hall directly.
"Yang Qi, I believe you have guessed why I kept you here." Feng Wu looked at Yang Qi and continued, "According to our previous agreement, you must lead the Phoenix Clan to victory. Only then will we recognize you and no longer oppose you and Feng Yan being together."
"But now it seems that our Phoenix clan is almost certain to lose." Feng Wu said with a bitter face.
They thought that with Yang Qi on their side, Feng Xie breaking through to the three-star Martial Emperor level, and Bai Wei reaching the peak of the two-star Martial Emperor level, they would have a good chance of winning. But after truly knowing the strength of the Dragon Clan team, even Feng Wu felt desperate, and the Phoenix Clan was probably doomed to lose five games in a row.
Yang Qi looked towards Feng Wu, and then said in a deep voice, "If the Phoenix Clan is bound to lose, then there is no point for me to participate in such a competition."
If the Phoenix Clan is bound to lose, whether Yang Qi participates or not, Feng Wu and others will oppose him and Feng Yan being together. Why should he help the Phoenix Clan
The Phoenix Clan now wanted to lose in a way that was not too embarrassing. Although the purpose was different from the previous one of winning, Yang Qi, as a cultivator who was sure to defeat two three-star martial emperors in the early stage, was equally important to the Phoenix Clan. However, Yang Qi could not accept the original agreement because he was not sure of winning. Now he threatened to withdraw from the competition in the hope that Feng Wu and others could lower their demands. This was also the only solution Yang Qi had thought of after some thought.
Feng Wu looked at Yang Qi and said slowly, "We also know that the previous agreement was a bit unreasonable, so we lowered some of the requirements. As long as you can insist on meeting the other party's fifth practitioner, even if you can only resist a little and lose one or two, our previous promise will still be valid."
According to Feng Wu and others' estimation, the Phoenix Clan had no chance of winning this time. If Yang Qi was allowed to fight according to the previous agreement, he would probably give up the competition directly, and the Phoenix Clan would definitely lose very badly. Therefore, after a brief discussion, the Feng Wu Clan decided to lower the requirements. As long as Yang Qi could insist on meeting the fifth contestant, the agreement would be fulfilled.
Compared with the reputation of the entire Phoenix clan, Feng Yan is nothing. Even if Feng Yan and Yang Qi get together, she is still a member of the Phoenix clan.
Phew~
Hearing this, Yang Qi couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. He was really afraid that Feng Wu would insist on the previous agreement, which would result in both sides being hurt, and even offending the entire Phoenix Clan. After all, the contestants have been announced now. If Yang Qi quits the competition, even those Phoenix Clan leaders who don't oppose awakening the ancestral Phoenix bloodline will probably not show any face to him. He may even have a hard time explaining to Feng Yan, who has a very strong sense of belonging to the Phoenix Clan.
"Thank you!" Yang Qi bowed slightly.
Feng Wu heard this and smiled calmly. He didn't take Yang Qi's threat seriously. Yang Qi himself was not a member of the Feng Clan. The two sides were just making a deal. But if this deal was destined to leave Yang Qi with nothing to gain, no one would agree to it.
Feng Wu looked at Yang Qi in front of him and said solemnly, "Although we only met the opponent's fifth contestant, the difficulty is still not low. According to my estimation, the opponent's four three-star martial emperors are likely to be placed in the top four to compete."
Five against five, it seems that it is not difficult for the Phoenix Clan to insist on meeting the opponent's fifth contestant. However, based on Feng Wu's understanding of the Dragon Clan, the Dragon Clan is likely to defeat the Phoenix Clan's contestant in one go. In this case, it is not easy for Yang Qi to meet the opponent's fifth contestant.
“Are the four three-star Martial Emperors going to fight in the front?” Yang Qi frowned slightly. If so, the pressure on him to meet the fifth contestant would be quite great. It would probably not be easier than leading the Phoenix Clan to victory when facing the three three-star Martial Emperors of the Dragon Clan.
Yang Qi's eyes narrowed and he said in a deep voice, "I will do my best."
The Phoenix Clan lowered the requirements, although the difficulty did not seem to change, but Yang Qi also knew that this should be the bottom line of the Phoenix Clan. Otherwise, it would be unnecessary to make a deal with Yang Qi just to meet the fourth practitioner. (To be continued)
