Shrouded Seascape

Chapter 845: Margaret

Views:

"What?" Hearing the words in his ear, Charles almost thought he had heard it wrong and put down the bottle of wine that he had just put to his mouth.

Now that she had said everything in her heart, Margaret no longer hesitated. She took a step forward and stared into Charles' eyes. "Charles, you should understand my feelings. I love you, and I want you to be my husband."

Hearing this, Charles laughed for no reason, "This time you are really direct."

"Some opportunities are extremely precious and we must seize the moment as much as possible." There was no longer the shyness of a former young girl in Margaret's eyes, only the desire for the goal.

She leaned over and stretched out her shoulders, ready to hug Charles, but just as her fair and clean fingers were about to touch his body, Margaret felt something invisible restraining her body.

"Forget it. It worked before but not now." Charles wrapped Margaret with those transparent tentacles and pushed her back to the cabin door.

Margaret showed a strong unwillingness, "Why? Is it because of the scar on my face?" She lifted her hair with her hand, revealing the hideous scar.

Charles shook his head slightly. "No, you've seen Anna's true appearance. I don't even dislike her, so why would I care about this? I'm not a person who cares much about appearance."

"Why is that?"

"Gulp, gulp~" As Charles' Adam's apple slid up and down, half of the bottle in his hand was immediately gone.

Margaret reached for the gun holster on her leg, and the bottle shattered instantly, spilling the wine and broken glass all over Charles' face. "Give me a reasonable reason, or you can't get rid of me! I'm no longer the little girl I was before."

Charles wiped the wine off his face with his hand and sighed slowly, "Because I will be very busy next time and don't have time to waste on this kind of thing."

Margaret clenched her fists and shouted to the cabin with emotion in her tone. "What on earth are you busy with? The death light in the sky has disappeared, the Futan Church is about to be wiped out, and the foundation you mentioned has also been cleared out by you. Now the entire North Sea is your territory! What on earth are you busy with!!"

Charles did not answer Margaret's question. His eyes were fixed on the organs soaked in preservative fluid on the table opposite.

Margaret's head slowly dropped, a teardrop fell from her hair and hit the moldy floor, and her voice trembled a little.

"I don't need you to spend too much energy on me. I just want to be by your side, Charles. I really miss you."

Charles slowly lay down on the bed, turned around and faced the woman in front of him with the back of his head, and said with a hint of fatigue in his voice: "Go back, be your governor at ease, and concentrate on assisting the bloodline of the Magdish family. What I do next has nothing to do with you, and you don't need to get involved."

As soon as the words fell, Margaret clenched her gums tightly, and she raised her head suddenly to reveal her red eyes. "I won't give up this time! Absolutely!"

After saying that, she turned around quickly and strode towards the deck. As she left, the oil lamp went out again, and Charles fell into darkness again.

But not long after, the darkness was dispelled by Lily's golden hair, and the little mouse flew in carefully.

Lily saw her captain, who was curled up on the bed with his head in his hands. For some reason, Lily felt a pain in her heart when she saw this scene, and immediately put aside the gossip questions she wanted to ask.

"Mr. Charles, are you okay? Are you in a bad mood? Why don't we go out and play? I heard that there is a roller coaster for adults in the newly opened amusement park in the south of the island." Lily lay on Charles' head, grabbed the edge of his ear and spoke softly into his ear hole.

"It's okay, just go out and leave me alone for a while. I need to figure out some things." Charles' attitude did not change at all.

"No need to look for her. She must not return to Hope Island. Her desire for power has made her too obsessed. If she returns, she will definitely hurt other people on the island."

"Then..." Before Lily could finish, Charles interrupted her, "Be good, Lily, go play somewhere else. I want to be alone."

Lily's ears drooped immediately, and she gently touched Charles' face with her furry cheek, then flew out.

As soon as Lily left, Charles sat up from the bed, walked to the drawing board, picked up the paintbrush and started painting.

The brush kept painting on the drawing paper, and former family members, former classmates, and former friends appeared on it. With one stroke after another, teaching buildings were erected, and the former school also appeared on it.

Various familiar faces and scenes kept appearing on the drawing board, and the somewhat decadent Charles' eyes once again showed some brilliance.

At the moment when the dye was completely used up, the content on the messy drawing board was the back of a person, a person with a shoulder bag on his back jumping towards the passenger ship.

He was a young man, his cheerful face full of anticipation for the journey in the coming days.

"How wonderful it is! I really want to go back to this time again," Charles reached out and stroked the wet drawing paper, not caring at all about his work being gradually smeared.

"So you choose to escape? Your wish is to abandon everything in Earthsea and return to the surface alone? This is only one wish. What are the other two wishes?"

Charles quickly looked up and saw the other 005 standing at the door. His cold eyes quickly returned, "Don't worry, I haven't found the last thing yet."

"I'm not in a hurry. I'll take my things first, and you can take your time to find the remaining one." The black cat in 005's arms jumped onto the table where the organs were placed next to him. Under the touch of the cat's claws, the jars of specimens shook and fell to the ground.

Just as the cans were about to fall to the ground, they suddenly changed angle and landed in front of Charles.

Charles used his tentacles to wrap around them. "Since you're not in a hurry, I'll give them to you after I find the last one."

005 looked at him silently for a few seconds before his body began to fade. "Sure, I'm actually quite easygoing, especially towards species I like."

Seeing that 005 was about to disappear again, Charles thought quickly in his mind and suddenly stepped forward, "Please wait, I have a question about wishes."

005's ethereal body solidified again, "What?"

"You said that there is no change on the surface of the earth now. Can you let me confirm it first? I want to see what the surface of the earth is like now."
