However, this power is not stable, unlike a powerful war poem that, once used, will surely summon the thoughts left by the sages between heaven and earth.
At this time, the true intention of Zengzi had not condensed in the sky. It was more like a call for the remaining power left by Zengzi in the Shengyuan Continent, and the call was successful so far.
Even so, some great scholars showed their joy. Fang Yun's move was too brilliant. No matter what poems he wrote later, the first one would mention Zengzi, the second sage. Unless the sage was willing to protect Liushan at all costs, he would never take action.
If the Zongsheng intervenes, the three sub-sage families, Zengzi's family, Zisi's family, and Mengzi's family, will unite to suppress the Zongsheng!
Being able to summon any power of Zengzi would be of great benefit to the Zeng family. To put it in a noble way, it means that Zengzi will protect future generations; to put it in a popular way, it means that the ancestors have appeared to bless them; to put it in a utilitarian way, it means that the Zeng family is asking for some benefits from their ancestors.
If the ancestor of the clan tried to stop it now, it would be like destroying Zengzi's spirit, which would be equivalent to digging up Zeng's ancestral graves. Zengzi's family would be furious, and Zisizi was Zengzi's student, so Zisizi's family would also take action. Mencius was Zisizi's disciple, and he was also a descendant of Zengzi, so Mencius' family would definitely help Zengzi's family.
Some great scholars thought that Fang Yun had calculated everything, and now Fang Yun should be hoping more than anyone else that the Sage would step in to stop him. The heads of the three great families of Zengzi, Zisi and Mengzi were probably all smiling bitterly. If they said they were dissatisfied with Fang Yun's using a knife to kill someone, Fang Yun was actually calling on Zengzi's power, which was beneficial to the Zeng family; if they said they were satisfied with Fang Yun's help, Fang Yun was using them to resist the Sage, and they were clearly at the center of the vortex, but they had no choice but to be led by Fang Yun by the nose.
The great scholars looked at each other and saw joy in each other's eyes, but no one reminded Liu Shan.
"Do you dare to accept this poem?" Fang Yun raised his head and looked at Liu Shan coldly.
Everyone looked towards Liu Shan, many with playful smiles on their faces.
If Liu Shan did not accept it, he would be overturning what he had said before and would inevitably face more fierce attacks from the civil and military officials. But if he accepted it, it would be tantamount to a formal fight with Fang Yun, and then one poem after another would pass by until he could no longer accept it or Fang Yun could no longer write, thus completing Zhu Gong's killing of his son.
Liu Shan gritted his teeth, slowly raised his chin, bowed to Fang Yun, and said, "Thank you, Fang Xusheng, for the poem!"
Fang Yun stretched out his hand and flicked the poem page towards Liushan.
The pages of poetry were clearly flying very fast, but everyone felt that they were actually very slow, because it was not just a piece of paper, but more like a mountain.
This mountain will be the start of the most intense battle between Fang Yun and Liu Shan!
In this battle, either you die or I live.
Everyone stared at the page of poetry until it fell into Liu Shan's hands.
The moment Liu Shan took the page of poetry, his arms suddenly sank slowly, as if he had suddenly received something extremely heavy.
A simple page of poetry would never make the Grand Secretary sink his elbow.
A piece of paper is worth a thousand gold!
Everyone who stared at Liu Shan's face could clearly see a flash of regret across his face.
Afterwards, that seemingly extraordinary page of poetry seemed to become a gust of wind, blowing Liu Shan's clothes into disarray and his silver hair flying.
A large amount of heaven and earth energy poured into the paper. In everyone's eyes, that page of paper seemed to change from a mountain peak into a continuous mountain range.
Liu Shan's arms gently sank half an inch again.
All the left-wingers' party members changed color.
Generally speaking, few scholars with higher literary rank than Hanlin can perform Zhu Gong Sha Zi. After all, the punishment for the loser is too great. So when ordinary scholars perform Zhu Gong Sha Zi, even if the poem pages carry some of the vitality of heaven and earth, it will not be too much. After all, it is written on the spot and old works cannot be used.
But the author now is Fang Yun, the top university scholar, the ancestor of human race's virtual saint poetry, and the lord of the Yangtze River. The vitality of heaven and earth that he can mobilize is far stronger than that of the university scholars of the same level, and it was manifested when he was fighting against the barbarians.
Although Liu Shan's arms drooped slightly, he stood tall and said loudly, "The second chapter!"
Fang Yun picked up the pen and started writing again.
The second gift is a farewell gift to my old mother at Liushan.
The scholar went to the capital to take the exam, and his old mother watched him with tears in her eyes.
It's a gloomy autumn night in the house. It's better to have no children than to have them.
As Fang Yun was writing, everyone watched carefully. The first two sentences told the story of a mother crying until her eyes dried as she watched her son go to the capital to take the imperial examination. The next two sentences told the story of an old mother alone in a lonely room on this autumn night. At this time, having a son was the same as not having one.
When Fang Yun finished writing, his talent naturally emerged. It was three feet one meter high and was the poem of Mingzhou.
No one in the Golden Palace said a word, even the youngest Jingjun was pondering the poem carefully.
The first three lines of this poem are very ordinary, with only the three words "tears in the eyes are dry" being quite exquisite. But the last line "It is better to have no children at this time than to have them" makes everyone feel as if their hearts are being hit hard, their chests feel stuffy, and their breathing becomes difficult after reading it.
A few people even had tears in their eyes, and one of them was even a Hanlin, who was obviously thinking of his mother.
"It is better to have no children at this time. This is the best line in poems about filial piety to mothers." Jiang Hechuan spoke first.
Many people nodded. As the Minister of Culture, Jiang Hechuan was in charge of the educational affairs of Jing State. His evaluation could not only represent Jing State, but even the entire human race.
Fang Yun put away his brush and said, "Filial piety is the most important virtue. If we judge by the heart rather than the deeds, there will be no filial sons in poor families."
Everyone was stunned for a moment, and then they looked enlightened. This sentence summed up the matter very reasonably. Respecting parents, elders and ancestors is the first of all virtues and kindness, but the way of respecting one should focus mainly on filial piety, and secondly on filial behavior. If one only considers filial behavior and not filial piety, then all children from poor families are unfilial, because they cannot provide their parents with a comfortable old age like rich families.
Some university scholars and great Confucian scholars even fell into deep thought. Someone had mentioned similar remarks before, but none of them summarized it as well as Fang Yun. This sentence made people understand very well that filial piety also needs to take the actual situation into consideration and cannot be generalized.
Some people frowned, while the left-wing party members showed joy. Fang Yun first scolded Liushan with a poem, saying "It is better to have no son at this time", and now he said "Judge by the heart, not by the deeds". Liushan is obviously filial and has filial piety, but his filial piety is not perfect. Even if the sentence "Judge by the deeds, there is no filial son in a poor family" is not to help Liushan, but instead attacks Liushan, a person from a wealthy family who cannot be filial to his parents, the previous sentence "Judge by the heart, not by the deeds" can still excuse him.
Everyone noticed the contradiction between this poem and Fang Yun's explanation.
However, all the great scholars were not worried. Instead, Liu Shan's brows were tightly furrowed as if twisted into a rope, and his eyes were filled with rage and dark clouds.
The left-wing faction members noticed from the corner of their eyes that Liu Shan's face looked strange and were horrified, not understanding what was going on.
Suddenly, a grand voice echoed between heaven and earth, like what Fang Yun said, but a little different.
"Filial piety is the first of all virtues. Judging by the heart, not the deeds, there are no filial sons in poor families."
The Voice of the Holy Word.
The left prime minister's party members looked dejected. They were only thinking about how to help Liu Shan to exonerate himself, but they forgot that this sentence involves the truth of filial piety and can explain many related sentences in "The Book of Filial Piety" and "The Analects of Confucius".
