Looking at Yang Qi who completely crushed the cultivator, Pang Xuan couldn't help but sigh, "Brother Yang's strength is really terrifying!"
Pang Xuan had fought with that cultivator for a long time before. Even with the cooperation of the green beetle, the man and the beast were still at a disadvantage. But now, Yang Qi easily crushed the cultivator, and the gap between the two was obvious.
Originally Pang Xuan was planning to assist Yang Qi, but now that Yang Qi had crushed the cultivator, he didn't even have the chance to fight back.
The power of the five elements has the effect of inhibiting recovery, even for a practitioner controlled by the soul-eating insect. As the fight continues, the practitioner's body becomes more and more seriously damaged.
Seeing that the cultivator's injuries were getting worse, Pang Xuan quickly reminded him, "Brother Yang, you can first severely injure the soul-eating insect, and then try to force it to recognize you as your master."
It is difficult to get a Martial Emperor-level insect beast to recognize its master, but it is not without chance. If you severely injure the insect beast, you can try to force it to recognize you as your master, and there is a certain chance of success.
This was also the plan of Moru and others before. No one would kill the precious insect beast like the soul-eating insect directly because it would be such a waste.
"Forced to recognize the master?"
Yang Qi was stunned, but the next moment, he gave up the idea.
Not to mention that the chances of successful forced recognition of the master are extremely low, and he himself is not a cultivator of the insect-beast path. It is already not easy to cultivate a dark beetle, let alone cultivate an insect-beast at the level of a Martial Emperor.
The path of insect beasts was not the one Yang Qi wanted to follow, so there was naturally no need to recognize a Martial Emperor-level insect beast as his master and distract his attention.
"Brother Pang, if you intend to recognize its master, you can give it a try. Otherwise, I will just kill it." Yang Qi said to Pang Xuan who was not far away.
Um
Pang Xuan was stunned when he heard Yang Qi's words. Yang Qi didn't even plan to try to recognize the soul-eating insect as his master, but just killed it directly
However, after thinking about it, Pang Xuan understood the reason. Yang Qi did not rely on insects and beasts. His cultivation level was close to that of a peak two-star martial emperor. This not only showed Yang Qi's strong talent and potential, but also showed that Yang Qi had a deep understanding of the path he was taking. Such a practitioner knew the path he was taking very well, so it was impossible for him to distract himself.
For other practitioners, it is rare to see insects and beasts at the Martial Emperor level, and they would not let go of the opportunity to recognize their master. But for Yang Qi, the soul-eating insects in front of him could not bring him much help. If he wanted to use the soul-eating insects to help him, he had to continue to cultivate the soul-eating insects.
Yang Qi already had a dark beetle. If the dark beetle evolved to the Martial Emperor realm, it would mean that Yang Qi had two Martial Emperor insect beasts to cultivate. Cultivating several Martial Emperor insect beasts was not an easy task even for a Martial Emperor who followed the path of insect beasts, let alone other practitioners!
Pang Xuan's expression changed for a while, and after a moment he gritted his teeth and said, "Okay, I'll try it!"
Pang Xuan himself was only at the peak of the one-star Martial Emperor level. Even with the help of the green beetle, he could only rival an ordinary two-star Martial Emperor. The soul-eating insect that controlled the cultivator was at least a mid-stage two-star Martial Emperor. With his strength, if he wanted to force it to recognize him as his master, his chances of success were extremely low. If he failed, he might even be attacked.
However, Pang Xuan is not Yang Qi. He is a cultivator who practices the way of insects and beasts. When he encounters an insect beast of the level of the soul-eating insect and has a chance to recognize its master, he will not miss such an opportunity even if it is a little risky!
Yang Qi nodded, and the attacks in his hands became more and more fierce, constantly consuming the vitality of the cultivator. Coupled with the destruction of the five elements, the strength of the cultivator was also greatly affected.
“Almost there!”
Feeling that the life force of the practitioner was not strong, Yang Qi's eyes focused and his soul power burst out completely. The power of the virtual world and the soul-suppressing bell increased again, and the practitioner's body trembled under the suppression of this terrifying soul power.
Buzz~
At the moment when the soul-eating insect was suppressed, Pang Xuan took action. With the help of the green beetle, a powerful soul wave attacked the practitioner.
Bang!
After the soul fluctuations penetrated into the cultivator's body for a moment, Pang Xuan's body felt as if hit by a hammer. He staggered and his face suddenly turned pale.
"Failed!" Pang Xuan said with a wry smile.
With his strength, the chances of success in forcing a stronger insect beast to become its master were extremely low. Although he had anticipated failure, Pang Xuan still felt disappointed that he failed to successfully recognize the soul-eating insect as its master.
This is a soul-eating insect, and it is at the level of a two-star Martial Emperor. If it can successfully recognize its master, not only will he have an additional insect beast with huge potential, but his own strength will also be greatly improved, and it will be easy for him to become a two-star Martial Emperor!
Yang Qi looked at Pang Xuan, whose face was slightly pale, and couldn't help but ask, "Can we try again?"
"No, my soul is being backlashed. If I forcibly imprint the soul mark again, it will only add insult to injury. If I am bitten back by the soul-eating insect, it will be even worse." Pang Xuan smiled bitterly and shook his head.
It was already very reluctant for him to force himself to recognize the master. If he continued to try while his soul was injured, not only would the injury to his soul be aggravated, he might even be bitten back by the soul-eater due to the significant reduction in soul pressure. That would be troublesome.
Hearing what Pang Xuan said, Yang Qi moved his hand and once again activated the Black Phoenix Sword to kill the cultivator.
Poof!
The sword light fell, and the cultivator's body shattered. A translucent figure rushed out from the cultivator's body. This was the true form of the soul-eating worm.
"It's too late to run away now!"
Looking at the soul-eating insect that was about to escape, Yang Qi, who had been prepared, immediately mobilized the power of the Pseudo-Source Divine Weapon, and a light gray sword light slashed directly towards the body of the soul-eating insect.
Crunch~
Feeling the incoming attack, the Soul-Eating Bug let out a terrified cry, and a powerful force burst out from his body, meeting the falling sword light.
Poof!
The sword light fell, but it directly broke through the attack of the soul-eating insect and fell on the body of the soul-eating insect. As the sword light fell, the life breath of the soul-eating insect completely dissipated, and it fell from mid-air to the ground.
"He died already?"
Looking at the dead soul-eating insect, Yang Qi's face showed a hint of surprise. This soul-eating insect was too easy to kill. He had spent a lot of effort dealing with the soul-eating insect before.
"The soul-eating insect is good at souls, but its physical body is not very strong. Moreover, the soul and vitality of the soul-eating insect are one with the practitioner it controls. Once it forcibly breaks away from the controlled practitioner, it will also be backlashed. The soul-eating insect just now was actually seriously injured." Pang Xuan on the side explained.
I see!
After hearing Pang Xuan's explanation, Yang Qi also understood. It seems that the soul-eating insects can control living practitioners, and even the power they unleash is not weaker than the practitioners' original strength, but it is not without weaknesses.
In fact, most insect beasts have obvious weaknesses. After all, insect beasts cannot comprehend and practice on their own, so naturally they cannot make up for their innate defects. (To be continued)
